Are there plans to support more of the Ultimate Campaign content? Specifically the downtime rules.. Rooms, Teams, Buildings, Organizations, and the various types of Capital (Goods, Influence, Labor, and Magic) ?

Something like a Helper.Supernat tag that can be added to spells to mark it is a supernatural ability instead of a spell-like ability.

From the FAQ within Hero Lab:

Chapter 2: Downtime
  • Downtime Activities: These activities can be handled by normal purchases (at a reduced price), and by adding cash and XP as new journal entries.
  • Managers: Coming Soon
  • Rooms and Teams: Coming Soon
  • Buildings and Organizations: Coming Soon

It would be something like the Helper.SpellLike tag but instead of listing a spell as a spelllike ability it lists it as a super natural ability. Adding the AbilType.Super tag to bootstrapped spell like that does not work.

If a supernatural ability has the same effects as a spell, it doesn't belong in the Spell-Like abilities section in the Spells tab. It should be a normal ability, and then use the "Append Spell Information" option to add the details of the spell to that ability.

Not to be a brat, but there are a lot of things spread around in Hero Lab that says that it is being worked on. While it is nice to know that things are not completely ignored, it can be frustrating when we want to make use of these things that have been "worked on" for several months.

I don't mean that to be snarky, but I guess what I am getting at is that it would be great if we could see sort of a progress or priority list. Maybe a web page that lists all of the things that are "being worked on", and we can see if that truly is the case. If it isn't really being worked on, there are some things that I would try to tackle on my own if they become important enough in my own gaming. I am sure that others would feel the same way. Many of the things seem to rely on the internal coding, however, and I can see why it would be waiting. We must fix X to be able to add Y in order to implement Z.

How would this differ from the existing AbilType.Super tag?

Makes sense, didn't even cross my mind, but it should have.

I was working on the missing ultimate campaign stuff much of last month, but the ACG playtest meant I hadn't quite enough time to get things finished for the November release. Now that is done, I'll be heading back into Ultimate Campaign tomorrow. Unless something goes terribly wrong, I expect they'll be done for the next (December) release.

Thanks for the update. Yeah, I had figured that the playtest screwed with things (thanks for getting it done, BTW). Seeing what is being worked on does help to keep the masses pacified.

Many of the things on the to-do list are cooler for us than they are for the official rules, as they make it easier for us to tweak in our own house rules and stuff. Unfortunately while many things sound like cool ideas, they need significant rewrites to implement properly.

If xIndex (and possibly xCount) wasn't incremented if an ability is disabled. This would make things display correctly on the class tab when just a single ability is replaced, say Inspire Courage +1 was replaced but everything else was normal on the class tab where the disabled one would say just "Inspire Courage (replaced)" and the next would say "Inspire Courage +1" instead of showing up as +2 on the tab.

Been awhile since I added to this but i have something that has recently been annoying me.

The Import Stock Hero list is becoming unmanageable, can we add an ability to collapse that list by publisher? And for it to remember what is collapsed and not collapsed.

Throw anything Acid

I am playing Alchemist with Int 20 and would like some help.
I have the feat Throw anything.
Now I want to stock up with Acid flasks for when my bombs run out.
With this feat my Acid would make 1d6+5 with a splash of 5.
I dont know how to make this into a showed weapon in summary as bombs do.
It would be nice with the to hit and all.

Thanks in advance

a tag that would be something like the FtCountAs.? group but have it be AbCountAs.? for counting as a class for the purpose of abilities. For example an archetype that receives rogue talents and counts as x levels of rogue for the purpose of meeting prereqs.

For the activated abilities could a counter be added for the 2nd activation name?

That way it is easier to implement things that have more than one range of independent elements that affect a character.

a few years back now, When I printed my wizard, I could also print Either my spells known or my SpellBook, with full discriptions or summaries (both with DCs and ranges calculated) (sorted by spell level, and optionally sub sorted by school) in an amazing LANDSCAPE format. I really loved that format, and would love to see that option returned. Since then Xml output has been implemented, but that doesn't help me at all.

An inherent bonus does not stack with another inherent bonus, so if something gave an inherent bonus to initiative, it wouldn't stack with another inherent bonus to initiative.
