Wild Shape adjustments

Is there a way to disable the natural attack from the original form so there is no clash with the ones gained from the beast shape ?

Scenario:
Tiefling with a bite natural attack, which is counted as a primary attack with 1.5xSTR damage bonus, seen it is the only natural attack.
Now our tiefling uses Beast Shape into a form that ONLY has a bite attack (lets say Behemoth Hippo).
Now HL shows i have two bite attacks (the tiefling one and the hippo one) and only use 1xSTR damage bonus for them whereas only the hippo bite should be available (you lose your original form natural attack when polymorphing) with 1.5xSTR damage bonus.

While i understand everything cant be perfect, is there a way to do something to prevent this (like an adjustement from ShadowChemosh or anything else) ?

Thats funny as the next version I plan to release will have the ability to force the damage of a Natural Attack to 1.5, 1x, or 1/2. Also to change a natural attack to a Primary or Secondary attack.

So "soon" is all I can say.... :)

thomaspryde: Download the file and extract it to your Hero Lab Pathfinder data folder. You can find the Pathfinder data folder by going into Hero Lab and clicking on the Tools menu, then Explore Folders, then Game System Data Folder. After you've extracted the file, you'll need to restart Hero lab. To use the adjustments, in the "Configure Your Hero" window, you'll need to check the "Wild Shape Adjustments" checkbox, which should be below "User Content." (there is a picture of this in a previous post of mine in this thread).

Jinx7027: I do not have an iPad, so I cannot say if the adjustments will work with the app. Sorry.

jjacko: Sounds like ShadowChemosh's next set of adjustments might help out. I do not anticipate releasing any further updates unless somebody finds a simple bug (like poison on something that shouldn't have it, incorrect speed, etc.). Sorry.

ShadowChemosh: Could you update the file that's on d20psfrd? It looks like the first release is what's up there.

After the file is created on the computer
And I transfer it to my iPad
On your new app
Will it still give me the wildshape options?

If so I am willing to pick up the bestiary packets

Thanks
Todd

I just tried it and it complained about not being able to find the wildshape files.

Was hoping someone would take pity on the computer illiterate and help me out as I really want to be able to use the wild shape options.

I purchased the Beastiary 1 package and enabled it. I have downloaded the data package and it appears to have unzipped as all of the files are showing .user except for the read me file. I have moved it into the game system folder but am not sure if I have "extracted" it as I am not sure what that means. When I restart Hero Lab, nothing is shown under user data/files so I know something is amiss.

I play using the ipad so any help to get it there would be great as well.

Thank you!

Ahh, got it to work. The template for the Allosauras appears to be incorrect. It is listing the bite as 4d6 when it should be 2d6 and the claws as 2d8 when it should be 1d8. I am not sure if the creator is updating this or not at this time, but thanks for your work.

While I haven't updated these in a long time (Bestiary 4 isn't supported, for instance), I'll still look into issues if posted in this thread.

blsmith71: Beast shape I allows you to take the form of a medium animal. As far as I can see, there are no medium sized bears in Bestiaries 1-3, so there's nothing missing from the adjustments.

pogie: The allosaurus adjustment works fine for me, showing 2d6 for the bite and 1d8 for the claws. If you post the portfolio you're seeing the incorrect damage dice, I can see if there's something going on that could be causing the problem.

As for working with the iPad version of Hero Lab, I don't have an iPad, and don't foresee myself ever getting one - I much prefer Android - so I have no idea if they work with it or not.

First, thanks so much for your work. People like yourself are one of the reasons I'm such a HL fan.

I extracted your files, activated Beast Form I -wolf and took a look. I noticed that the melee attack was +0. I have a 6th level druid with the Mountain Druid archetype (no wildshape until 6th level). I discovered it's applying a -5 secondary natural attack penalty. Is this correct?

ANS: My boar spear (which melded with my new wolf form) was still equipped. Once it was unchecked, the -5 secondary natural attack penalty disappeared. I'm still not sure this wasn't a bug, as my spear wasn't a "natural attack," so the bite wasn't a "secondary natural attack."

If you attack with a weapon, all natural attacks are secondary. So if you have the boar spear equipped, HL automatically makes all natural attacks secondary, applying the -5 to hit and the reduced Str damage.

Thanks

Thanks again Alientude for this add on. There a couple of nice creatures in Beastiary 4 for Wildshape and would look forward to an update including these. Just wanted to let you know I am still using this.

Thanks!

I realize I am necro'ing this thread, but is there anything with the new stuff, like beast shape 4 and some of the oozes and such?

Would love it if they would actually work some of this into the classes that get wild shape, perhaps with a selectable list or something like the hunter gets where he can select the favorites from a larger list ect then just select in play when in wild shape and unchecked when not.

I was trying to deal with the situation a few weeks ago in a game was a pain ended up using a ton of other smaller adjustments to get everything correct but was def a pain

This is beta and not announced but v2.9 of my adjustment addon has a updated version of this. It has Beast shape 1,2,3,4 that has a drop down to select the animal.

Now the downside is each animal needs to be entered into a user file. On the good side I created a new tab in the editor that should make adding a new animal super fast and easy using drop downs and check boxes. zCommunity->Polymorph Adjustments.

So if you wanted to add more Animals to select in your own user file you can easily. Then feel free to share them with me and I can add them in officially.

Bodrin has agreed to help input some of the animals. And of course if you find any issues let me know.

After it is released and I can get a look at the way you set it up, assuming I understand it I will go threw and add a bunch of animals and such to expand the list.

Granted that is a lot of if's lol

V2.9 is out. It has about six example animals in and really it should be very easy to do. No scripts and I did 'my best with the help. So feel free to click on the question marks. :)

Don't need allot actually. If you even just do one for now that would be fine. I mean just add the animals you wish to turn into would be great.
