For the Sewer Goblin

Errors were encountered when loading the saved portfolio! A record of these errors can be found in the file "C:\Users\Martin\AppData\Local\Temp\hero_lab_load_issues.log". If you notice incorrect behaviors in your portfolio, please report it to the data file authors (you can contact them from the Help menu).

IIRC the dogslicer is located in the Rise of the Runelords dataset and the broken condition is in the weapon selection box. What seems to have happened on this is the Broken Dogslicer weapon has been removed somehow all that's needed should be to check if RotRl source is enabled and then add the broken Dogslicer back onto the goblin then resave. As for anything else it would appear that you are missing a few of the official campaign source datasets.

I can tell by the ID code of "wPcDogslic" that is the Dogslicer from the Community version of the "Adventurer's Armory". It is now part of the CORE HL for Rise of the Runelords so just change it to use the CORE version and it will be fixed.

Also an ID of "pGearBroke" sounds like someone's personal version of the "Broken Condition". This condition is part of CORE HL so again changing it over to that version will fix the issue for future gamers. :)

Rise of the Runelords Chapter 1 - Rogors Craesby has this error

Attempt to access field 'cTotalLev' that does not exist for thing 'tmDrG'
Location: 'field calculate' script for Field 'xTotalLev' near line 16

This has the same issue with Chapter 2 and Aldern Foxglove. I believe it is an issue with the Dread Ghoul code.

Edit: the other two Dread Ghoul's in this chapter have the same error.

Hmmm it almost sounds like the Dread Ghoul Template is not in the .user file maybe. Will try and take a look at this when I can.

No clue. Check against the stat block otherwise make any small change and resave. It's the one issue with all these made on different systems. :(

Second Darkness - Chapter 3 - Ilvera Parastric Alchemist has the following error

Note! Due to intentional changes to the data files since the loaded file was saved, certain error messages may be expected, as outlined below. If one of these errors occurs, it does not represent a loading problem unless specified as such.

The Advanced Player's Guide Second Printing changes the bonus spell for a level 8+ Witch with the Trickery Domain from Phantasmal Killer to Hallucinatory Terrain. This may cause an error to be reported. Here is an example of what this error will look like:
Chained pick 'spPhanKil4' has been orphaned due to missing bootstrap in batch '346'Hellknight characters from Pathfinder 27 will lose their Hellknight levels by default when loaded (as the Hellknight class was replaced in the Inner Sea World Guide). If you want to continue using your old Hellknights, see the Data File FAQ on the Help menu, and check the 'How can I get the old Hellknight back?' section. Example error:
Pick 'cHellknigh' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '383'

One or more required sources are not accessible for hero 'Ilverae Parastric'. Subsequent errors may be the result of this problem.

I am getting the following error after downloading the new Community Bestiary through the Updates window:

File: PFRPG_Curse_of_the_Crimson_Throne_Bestiary.user (line 348) - Thing 'rUChaindSp' - String exceeds maximum length for attribute 'value'.

Looking at the .user file referenced, it looks like the Description field for the Chained Spirit race is what is causing the error.

If it is relevant, I am currently running the Mac beta. I don't know if there is any difference between the two with respect to maximum field lengths in user files.

I would report this as a type of "Mac" issue as I can't duplicate it on any windows version of HL. I agree with that line 348 is the "Description" text for the Chained Spirit but that is a very small description text actually. I have ones that much longer actually.

Here is the RAW XML of line 348:
Code:
<fieldval field="rDescript" value="Its eyes blazing in deathless rage, a phantom floats unfettered by the bonds of the living world. The ghostly horror possesses its own ethereal bonds, though, its semi-transparent, vaguely humanoid figure clenched in the hold of countless crisscrossing chains—writhing and tightening over its vaporous form in unending torture. Several of these chains extend from the ghost’s body, some dangling through the floor or reaching seemingly through the ceiling above, while others pool in spectral lengths"/>

Council of Thieves - Chapter 4 - Avahzi Serafian

I don't seem to have the file that provides the Diabolist class - is this a Community resource, or is it housed in a data set I would have to purchase?

Note, I'm currently using the individual file downloads from the d20pfsrd site, as I haven't purchased the bundle containing Gods & Magic, which is identified as a necessary resource for the automated updating data set collection.

Note, I have not downloaded much of anything from the d20pfsrd site other than the Council of Thieves data set, and the Second Darkness data set to address the issue noted above in an earlier post.

Many thanks for any help on this issue!

I can't answer this off the top of my head without researching it in the data set. Hopefully the author will stop by and can let us know. Otherwise I will try and take a look this weekend.

Yep its why I left them on d20pfsrd for now. On my To-Do list is to find the "Things" that require Gods and Magic and change them so that bundle is not required. Its sort of a really odd one too need. Needing the APG and Bestiary I think is fine but not Gods and Magic.

It "shouldn't" require any additional downloads that I know of. As when I bundled it together I only had the bestiary/AP stuff in the data folder.

Can you PM me the exact error message your getting. Will make it easier to track down. When you get the error message in HL you can "Right" click and select copy. :)

Iirc the Diabolist is in one of the campaign setting bundles, I have all the add ons so wherever there is an official source it gets used in my custom stuff, hence Council of Thieves uses a lot of official sources, damn you Bestiary 3 and your Cerberi race, it took an age to enter then the official version launched. Grrrr!:D
Sorry can't be anymore helpful than that.

I may be able to provide some insight on the Gods & Magic front, since I don't have it - aside from potentially being the repository for the Diabolist class (though from what I can find in the published G&M work, the actual book doesn't seem to provide such a class designation and writeup), the only compile error I was getting that seemed likely to be related to Gods and Magic was an error for a spell-thing: "spBuGlory4"

That error was related to the Asura creature subtype. Dunno if that helps; I'll try to download the rest of the content individually from the d20pfsrd site to see if there are any other instances of compile errors. If there aren't, I'll see if it will let me download and use the file through the auto-updater. (I may not finish all of this until the weekend, so hopefully by Sunday I'll have something substantive to report...)

The only other thing that occurs to me is that if the datasets were constructed using Deity selections from G&M, that might be why it's flagging as required. If this is the case, I will say that none of the creatures I've imported into my own Portfolio for collecting NPCs had any functional glitches, though each one did warn me that there was an expected resource missing, and almost all of them had no Deity selection pre-assigned.

Anyway, I can't say enough how much I appreciate the work that his been done on these resources. Thanks very much!

I'm still seeing the issue I reported earlier on the mac version with a compile error in the Curse_Of_The_Crimson_Throne_Bestiary.user file. However, I think I have identified the issue. This is a repost from the Mac status thread:

The Windows version has the following on the relevant line:

Whereas the mac version has this:

Code:
<fieldval field="rDescript" value="Its eyes blazing in deathless rage, a phantom floats unfettered by the bonds of the living world. The ghostly horror possesses its own ethereal bonds, though, its semi-transparent, vaguely humanoid figure clenched in the hold of countless crisscrossing chains& #151;writhing and tightening over its vaporous form in unending torture. Several of these chains extend from the ghost& #146;s body, some dangling through the floor or reaching seemingly through the ceiling above, while others pool in spectral lengths"/>

Note the escaped characters in the Mac file: "chains& #151;writhing" instead of "chains-writhing", and "ghost& #146;s body" instead of "ghost's body". (I had to put a space after the ampersand to prevent these forums from parsing the characters out, but when I look at them in TextEdit on the Mac, I see them without the space.)

Eliminating the escaped characters allows the file to be compiled successfully.
