Pathfinder Community Data Sets....

You could also just remove the pf_GeneralAdjustments.user file as it is almost totally redundant now with the Official Stuff. So maybe easier to just take it out for now. Need to remove that .user file from d20pfsrd as it causes issue with the most recent version.

Update: Removed pf_GenarlAdjustment.user file from d20pfsrd.

Error messages on PFRPG User files

To add my tupenny worth heres a list of all the PFRG user files from the D20 PFSrd website that I have managed to install in the Pathfinder data folder without any problems.

PFRGP_SGG_WarMaster.user
PFRPG_35_DwarfParagon.user

PFRPG_PC_CheliaxEmpireOfDevils.user
PFRPG_PC_DwarvesOfGolarion.user
PFRPG_PC_ElvesOfGolarion.user
PFRPG_PC_SargavaTheLostColony.user
PFRPG_PC_SeekerOfSecrets.user
PFRPG_PC_TaldorEchoesOfGlory.user
PFRPG_pDB_Spellsword.user
PFRPG_ToS_Half Ogre.user
PFRPG_ToS_Knight.user
PFRPG_ToS_Priest.user
PFRPG_ToS_Ratkin.user
PFRPG_ToS_Saurian.user
PFRPG_ToS_Swashbuckler.user
PFRPG_ToS_Warlord.user
PFRPG_Wayfinder_01.user
TouchAttacks.user

Everything else from the site errors out with duplicate things or unknown things especially in the Black Dragon and Green Dragon files, these seem to reference attacks or abilities specific to dragons.

The CONSkill.user file also doesn't work, which I thought was odd at it errors out because of class helpers not being found!!

Hope this helps you Shadow for compiling any bug reports.

I have a specific game system which matches exactly to all the d20pfsrd stuff as before posting anything I test to make sure it works.

My only guess is their is a difference in which official data sets you have and I have? Currently I have everything. Bodrin can you let me know what official data sets you have?

For the dragons I am pretty sure they are bootstrapping stuff from the Bestiary.

For the concentration skill I am trying to reference classes from the APG. Thought I had it set to ignore if it couldn't find the class, but its hard to test as their is no way to Turn OFF a data set completely. I can maybe make two versions of that .user. One for those with APG and one without.......

I just updated this to v1.2 and used a different method to try and test for if a thing is alive before doing stuff with it. I am hoping that fixes the issue for when no APG data is installed.

Can you test this again and see what happens.

Thanks

At the moment I'm only running Pathfinder in demo mode as my group is just playing V3.5 Rules, so I don't have any data sets but the Original that installs with Hero Lab.
Not having the Bestiary makes perfect sense about the dragons although I would have thought the monster attacks would have been OGL as per the SRD and in the program anyway.

I'll wait until I purchase the core data sets before adding anything else. I can't see myself buying the flavour sets in book form though which will preclude any dataset purchasing. Bestiary 2 is a definite buy though!
This could be a problem in the future if custom stuff bootstraps data files that are Unavailable in the program. Maybe having guidelines on checking for the non original code and any add on codes would be fortuitous and prevent any hiccups later on for future users that only have the basic datasets.

That's exactly what I did for the dragons. While no dragon uses the Ancient Level abilities, they are still part of the bestiary, so I pulled them from there, to avoid duplicating abilities already available.

Hello All,

New Updates. :)

Latest Updates 11/18/2010
  • New RotR 1and2 NPCs.zip v1.0. by Golkiwu. Have to say wow to this one as their is allot of great work here. The zip file has a .user file that has RotRL specific things like Dread Ghoul template. The zip file also has a folder that has dozens and dozens of character files for the NPCs in parts 1 and 2 of the Rise of the Runelords adventure path. Great work. This is in the Pathfinder Adventure Paths folder.
Download at d20pfsrd.

I have been working on Curse of the Crimson Throne data files for my own campaign. I am willing to share my files with the community when I get them to a mostly complete stage, but I would need some help finding what it is we are allowed to share. Can someone help me find a place to determine what is open content and what is not?

Monsters in the Adventure Path Bestiary entries?
NPCs defined in the Adventure Path?
Converted 3.5 monsters that are not part of the Bestiary and were not open content in 3.5?

Also all my files are created with the use of the Bestiary and the Advanced Player's Guide licenses, so some things may require those add ones to work properly.

If it is from Paizo then it falls into the OGL and CUP so you can freely share it except for specific names. So technically you can't have the specific name of a NPC from an adventure path, but you could have all the stats.

For purposes of sharing the specific name is not a big deal and no one will care about that little detail. If the monster was a Non-SRD WotC monster than more than likely it was NOT OGL and can not be shared. If it comes from a product(ie PDF) or something the OGL requires the listing of what is and is not open content on the last page.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that helps.

In this case the monsters are WotC 3.5 monsters that I have converted or used the PFRPG SRD to convert and just added them. Things like Belkir, Blink Dog, etc.

Are those acceptable to share?

Sure, any user created content if fine to share, you just can sell it in any manner. There are a few sites that host those files as well. You can find them in my tag line below.

In this case the Blink Dog would be fine as it is part of the SRD, but the Belkir is not in the SRD and is from one of the MM2-MM5 books then no. Pretty much all of WotC stuff outside the core 3 books(PHB, DMG, MM) are non-OGL and can not be shared in any format. Or at least I know I could not share those on the d20pfsrd site.

If cheifweasel wishes to that is another matter and it won't actually cause any issues. The d20pfsrd site is just very strict on following the wording for OGL and will only allow me to post OGL or CUP material and this includes stuff converted to pathfinder rules. As WotC still controls the intellectual rights to such stuff as the Belkir.

Hope that helps.

Just a reminder that we're around a month and a half from the release date for the Bestiary 2 - you may want to think about what sort of creatures Paizo might include in that.

I do not see the Bestiary 2 as an add on package listed on the main development web page. Is this going to be an additional purchase item for Hero Lab?

Did they add Flurry of Blows in the last couple of patches and I missed it? Or will that be added as a .user file sometime soon? Thanks.

If your talking about the fix to FoB where BAB's from other classes stacked with the Monk when Flurrying then yes this was added awhile back officially in HL. So risner's adjustment in the .user file is also redundant at this point also.

Is it alright if I upload a dataset here? its nothing fancy just the guns from the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign setting, and two feats that go with them (Exotic Weapon Prof. Firearms & Gunslinger)

I couldn't find a file for them and saw some people where asking for them on the forums, and felt like doing something since I couldn't work today.

I've gone ahead and attached it to the bottom.

Thank You,

Thanks for this. I have added it to the d20pfsrd site in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting folder. In the future feel free to email me directly with other stuff or any changes. You or anyone with questions or new stuff to be posted can email me at ShadowChemosh(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I also went ahead and added your author information in the .user file. You should get credit for your work. :) To do this yourself you can just go to the VIEW menu in the editor and that lets you set three pieces of information for the .user file. Author, To-Do list, and History of changes.

Thanks again.
