Bug Reports - Version 3.14

Dire Wolf is also missing Weapon Focus, so is Dire Tiger missing this and improved natural attack (whatever), I suggest a review of creatures with those types of feats, since several are missing.

They are still subtracting the feats as though they did have what is missing though...

I suggest a review of creatures with those types of feats, since several are missing.

There are so many missing, or otherwise not working, issues with the d20 set right now.

I've been contemplating making a "community fixes" data set that replaceid's all the broken stuff with fixes.

There already is one that I made for fixing the problem with Darkvision defaulting to 60, called "Custom - Races Core Mods" as part of the community set and I am doing that right now, in fact. I made some changes to the way Poison works and am going through all the races to change them to the new way, which is when I noticed these.

On a side note, I should mention that the effects of the missing feats are there, the natural weapons that are bootstrapped have the appropriate tags on them. However pre-reqs that look for the feat won't be fulfilled. I understand the reason the feats aren't there, it is because d20 lacks a "Target.Whatever" mechanism like pathfinder has, so you can't choose the default weapon. Bootstrapping the feats means the user has an extra step in choosing what attacks get weapon focus or whatever.

Fiendish Dire Rat has an eval script that gives it a +8 to bonus to Climb in addition to the +8 it gets for having a climb speed, for a total of +16.

Normal Dire Rat is correct, with only a +8 bonus from having a climb speed.

The same problem exists for the Gargoyle, Kapaocinth race, in regards to getting a +16 to Swim this time.

Lizard race is getting +16 Climb for same reason.

Ogre, Merrow and +16 Swim

Shocker Lizard is getting a mystery +2 bonus to swim that is not mentioned in it's MM entry

Troll, Scrag and +16 Swim

Formian Worker race is not getting it's Damage Resistance correct. It currently has a xDamRs with a Value.10 tag and an Eval script which changes the CustDesc field to read "Sonic Resistance". Maybe this was a holdover from before xDamRsSoni was created? Seems like a workaround.

Anyway, it currently reads as "Damage Resist, (Specify) (0)", which is both ugly and has an incorrect value.

The xSumm and CustDesc for the halfling's racial bonus to saves (rHlSaves) is incorrect. It says they get a +2 racial bonus to all saves, when they actually only get a +1 (which is correct in the name)..

The Elf, Drow race is bootstrapping the Dwarf, Duergar's racial ability "+2 to saves vs spells and spell like affects" (rDuDwSaves), but this is incorrect. The Drow ability is limited to only a +2 to Will saves vs spells/spell like affects. They will need a new ability created.

The Leopard race is bootstrapping the xCatHideGr ability, which gives a +4 bonus to Hide in Tall Grass/Undergrowth, but according to the MM leopards do not have this conditional modifier.

All three races of whales are missing an ability to tell the user that they suffer -4 to both Spot and Listen if their Blindsight is negated. This special is shared with the Bat and Porpoise races, who have a special called Sonar that specifies just that. Perhaps the whales also need a Sonar Ability?

Crocodile and Giant Crocodile as missing a special that states they have a +4 bonus to Hide checks in the Water.

Races/Animals with Natural attacks receive an error gSizeDiff wHooves. Sorry I didn't write the error verbatim, but will update this post when I receive it again.

I've injected the latest additions from the 1.3 release dropbox and encountered these errors when trying to compile HL.

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilation after the following errors were detected:

Thing 'rDromite2' - Bootstrap thing 'typMonHuma' does not exist
Thing 'rGargoyle2' - Bootstrap thing 'typMonHuma' does not exist
Thing 'rKaGarg2' - Bootstrap thing 'typMonHuma' does not exist
Thing 'rUnicorn' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmCompul' does not exist
Thing 'typConstru' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmFortSv' does not exist
Thing 'typDeathle' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmFortSv' does not exist
Thing 'typDeathle' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmPhAbDa' does not exist
Thing 'typOoze' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmVision' does not exist
Thing 'typUndead' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmPhAbDa' does not exist
Thing 'typUndead' - Bootstrap thing 'xImmFortSv' does not exist

Doing my smaller bit for the community at large, work has taken priority my custom data input has reached zero at the moment.

Ah, Bodrin, I have put updated files in the dropbox for "Custom - Races Core Mods" and "MM - Immunity Special", replace the old ones with the new ones and I think all should be well.

Also, this thread isn't the right place to post errors about the community files. We have our own thread for that "User Content Bug Reports".

I know, but I was in a hurry as I was running late for work and just hit the bug reports forum! Forgot completely about the user bugs thread.
My bad.:(

I hope I am placing this in the right thread. If not, please accept my apologies in advance and point me in the right direction...thanks. :)

So here's the issue:

In the editor.
Trying to create a new race.
The race has a Special Ability (For example: Damage Reduction 10/Good).
Click on the "Special Abilities" button on the tab for the new race, select "Damage Reduction, Good" from the list.
"Edit Bootstraps" window is now open.
Click on the "Value?" dropdown box for "Damage Reduction, Good".
The Values "-None-", "Max Bonus", "Maximum bonus", and then numbers, starting at 1 and increasing from there.
The numbers 5 and 10 are not listed.

This issue occurs regardless of which Special Ability Bootstrap you are trying to set a Value? for, so I don't think it is a dataset issue as much as it is an issue with the core app.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Some unique magic weapons that have a Gizmo using Composite longbows are throwing an error when first added to the character. The error is:

Attempt to access transaction pick from script when no transaction context exists
Location: 'creation' script for Component 'BaseWep' near line 17

This only appears once and does not seem to do anything bad, unlike some errors which pop up every time you change something on the hero.

Hallo, I tried to give a full backpack to my light horse. Than I encountered the following error:

HeroLab.exe has encountered an error and needs to close.

Please email a DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU WERE DOING, in as much detail as possible, along with this message, to support@wolflair.com. PLEASE NOTE: Unless you tell us what you were doing, we won't have enough information to fix this problem!

Right click and choose "Copy to Clipboard" to copy these details:

There is a problem with Extra Wild Shape, and it's hard to solve. The cDrdWild1 class special ability does not add hTotal to what is eventually prints out. As a result, the total that actually gets printed out for number of uses per day is never changed by the hTotal. I worked on this for nearly 2 hours before I realized why it wasn't working.

There is a tagcount[Hero.ExtraWild] that does get added into the final total, but 1) I'm not sure what it does, can't decipher the kit references as I'd like to (tagcount confused me, you're counting the # of tags?), and 2) the hTotal on cDrdWild1 gets incremented but is never used in the script at all. In fact, I can't even find what ExtraWild is used for except for here. I'm sure it's my inexperience with this stuff showing.

Sorry, this should have been placed in the Community Data Set, though it's also valid here, since the script seems wrong on Wild Shape and Smite abilities. It is statically assigned it's total (and not the hTotal), if I'm understanding it correctly.
