Okay, so I upgrade or replace my laptop and desktop semi-regularly. We cycle through GM's, so it's not uncommon to come back to a character a year or two after playing it last.
I fired up an old character. I now get a validation error - attached. Is there a way to remove the affected data file references? I am pretty sure I don't actually even use these in the portfolio - but I can't see a way of splitting off them as a requirement? Shouldn't there be a simple button to "remove link" instead of just having a wonderfully inexplicable "OK" that doesn't sort the problem out? An explanation like "Ideally, if you're absolutely sure you want to kill this problem and remove the Source link forever, press this button marked "FIX" and we will tear the soul out of your character but restore your sanity by never needing to show this error message again... (Once I get this sorted, then I will move on to my other, related, but darker and more serious problem...) "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult" |

I might be a bit basic - I'm no power user. Exactly what option am I looking for?

Develop -> Prepare Portfolio for Distribution -> In the window that pops up, check the box for "Strip Missing Sources" then hit OK
You may need to "Enable Data File Debugging" before you can prepare the portfolio |
