Ultimate Magic - Sorcerer Blood Lines - Accursed

Perception is not showing up as a Class Skill for the Accursed Bloodline

I think its because the character isnt strong enough for the bow !

From the PFSRD "If your Strength bonus is less than the strength rating of the composite bow, you can't effectively use it, so you take a –2 penalty on attacks with it."

Good catch! Kinda makes you wonder why they would spend extra money on that. Maybe there's a lot of Bull's Strength in use in the group, I guess.

Any idea when the Bladebound magus archetype will be completed? Was hoping that it would be soon but since now that Ultimate Combat is out I'm guessin that most of the work will be done on this book now, hopefully this doesn't mean that Ultimate Magic will just be left unfinished forever.

Diminished Spellcasting: A crusader chooses only
one domain
and gains one fewer spell of each level than
normal. If this reduces the number to 0, she may cast spells
of that level only if they are domain spells or if her Wisdom
allows bonus spells of that level.

Oops. I should still be able to stack it with Merciful Healer because it requires you to have only one domain, not reduce your number of domains by one, right? (In which case, stacking the two removes all your domain choices and keeps you from meeting Merciful Healer's prereq of having the Healing domain is an error.)

Sorry about the earlier error.

In the Ultimate Magic addition to Hero Lab for Pathfinder there is a small error when selecting the "Mystery of the Dark Tapestry" for the Oracle class. It shows under the special abilities tab that at 1st level you have immunities to Acid, Critical Hits and Precision Damage. Those special abilities are not gained until level 20.

Thank you for the awesome program!

Wizard Wood School

When I select the Wood School as my specialized school, under the Wizards tab it tells me to add specialized school spells. When I click on that section, however, there are no spells listed. If I add additional levels to the character, nothing changes... still no "wood" spells in the list.

Am I doing something wrong?

Why is the Combat Patrol feat telling me I need Dodge as a prerequisite when I already have Dodge selected, and Dodge is not a prerequisite according to the rules?

Do you have any spells that meet the classification of being in the "Wood" school in your spellbook?

No spells that match the type = no spells available to memorize/listed.

The first Wood spell I can find quickly is level 5 "Fickle Winds". So not allot of spells for wood is probably the issue.

When selecting Deadly stroke, it says the prereqs are dazzling display and shattering defense, but herolab doesn't require shattering defense to be selected first before allowing deadly stroke to be selected.

No improved dirty trick feat?

I cannot seem to find the improved dirty trick feat under feat selection. It is mentioned as a prerequisite for other feats, but doesn't show on the list. Is this a known issue? I do own the licenses for all applicable resources.

Thanks

EDIT: I see what the problem was. I was trying to alter a stock NPC. Works just fine if I don't do that.

Animal Fury

The damage is not calculated right for this rage power Animal Fury. It should half STR not 1 and a half STR.

Arcane strike doesn't show up as an available feat for the magus in the new Ultimate Magic add on.

Verified this as well, I believe this is due to a earlier playtest with the magus but as it stands now, that verbiage was removed and the +1 damage from Arcane Strike (AFAIK) is untyped.

Same problem. The explanation (words to the effect "a similar effect is already in place") appears to imply that you wouldn't choose Arcane Strike because your Arcane Pool can be used for the same effect. But since (a) the Arcane Pool is limited and (b) the pool can be used for a lot of things, not all of which compete for your swift action in a round, I can see a lot of Magi wanting what is otherwise a "made for Magus" feat.

Unless, of course, I have mis-read the rules about using both.

BAB Shenanigans

What is the reasoning behind including the size modifier in the BAB printed in the "BAB" block of the character sheet (I don't remember off-hand if it is this way in statblocks too)?

I haven't run across any other source (in Pathfinder) where this is done. In general, BAB means BAB and not "BAB + Size Modifier." I understand that HL parses prerequisites correctly regardless of the BAB printed on the character sheet, but it doesn't make it any less confusing to those who aren't familiar with HL output (or less annoying to those of us that are).

What is the outlook on this being changed in a future version such that it matches the Pathfinder standard?
