The Sling Staff, Halfling shows a ranged attack value and damage but not a melee attack and damage value.
 
Mathias, What I think ShadowChemosh is getting at is that he has a character with 22 chosen skills from the Craft/Knowledge/Perform/Profession sets and is not seeing the problem mycerius is reporting with 9 such skills.
Correct. Sorry I was not more clear. :(
 
My resolution is 1440x900. HL is not creating a scrollbar for the skills and actually has plenty of space left after added 9 skills. I also removed the usr files from the pathfinder data dir and still had the crashing.

I have done further testing and found other factors. Below are my crash results but first some abbr's:
D2 - a dialog created from another dialog, i.e. custom item dialog from the pick list dialog, Change Settings dialog from the Configure Your Hero dialog
SBD - spellbook dialog, the one that displays spells in book not the spell selection dialog

No class or level 1 char, 9 skills - whenever a D2 goes away either clicking a button (Add/Cancel) or hitting Esc.
Level 2 char, 8 skills - as above
Level 3 char, 8 skills - as above
Level 1 Wiz, 8 skills - as above but SBD instead of D2 (wiz only, ok for other SB users)
Level 1 Wiz, 9 skills - SBD and D2

I have had a couple of other here test this and it works ok from them but they are both running Windows instead of Ubuntu.
 
mycerius, try reinstalling Hero Lab? It's possible something got corrupted on your hard disk and is causing the problems.

Can you get any sort of crash report out of Hero Lab / Wine / Ubuntu? Given that this seems to work fine on Windows, it's hard to diagnose the issue without that. :(
 
I noticed another small thing, concerning the Black-Blooded Template:

1. The Description gives neither the level adjustment, nor the +1 CR
2. The Template does not raise the CR, although it does use the Level Adjustment.
3. - I think the Pathfinder-Core Rules do not officially use the Level Adjustment anymore, so you could as well delete that part.
 
Feat "Ability Focus" is still broken :( The choices that can be made are totally wrong :) Or
what would be the effect of choosing "Chelaxian" as Ability Focus?1 :-Þ
 
Eastern Weapons

There are several weapons from Ultimate Combat that are listed as Monk weapons that say that they are monk weapons in the book but it says my monk is not proficient with them on hero lab,What is up with that?

List of Weapons that my monk is not proficient with according to hero lab but my copy of ultimate combat says are monk weapons

this in no way is a complete list but should give you a bit of the point,Please Help!!!!
 
With Shield Specialization and Greater Shield Specialization, there is an error message that says "Shield Specialization selected multiple times for the same thing," when both have the same shield selected.
 
Lawful Neutral Paladins

According to Faiths of Balance there are paladins that are lawful neutral that serve Abadar but the program wont allow it...

Yep correct and this is on the official FAQ.

Monk Weapons: If a weapon is specified as a monk weapon, does that mean that monks are automatically proficient with that weapon?
No. It means that they can use this weapon while using flurry of blows. It does not mean that it is added to the list of weapons that a monk is proficient with, unless the weapon description says otherwise.
 
"wounding" weapon ability

The description for the weapon ability "wounding" is not accurate.
Hero Forge shows that this ability deals 1 point of CON damage.
The rulebook says that it does 1 point of BLEED damage.
 
Inquisitor feat description - Favored Judgment from Ultimate Magic

The short description for this feat that is displayed on the character sheet reads as follows: "Judgments have greater effect on creatures of a specific type, chosen from the ranger's favored enemy list"

Which while technically correct, and mirrors what is in the Feat table in Ultimate Magic, does not give a player any useful information in play.

Is there a way to add "Any sacred or profane bonus you gain from a judgment is 1 higher for attacks you make against or take from creatures that match the selected favored enemy." or similar to make this more useful on the character sheet?

This Feat should work for Slings, Slingstaff, and double slings but it doesn't.
Halfling Slinger (Combat)
You have honed your racial talent for slingcraft.
Prerequisite: Halfling.
Benefit: You gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls made using a sling.
 
Alchemist / Vivisectionist bugs

Just a few things I noticed: For Alchemist, the Wings discovery shows as available at first level, but it should be available only starting at level 6. It says as much in the description.

For the Vivisectionist archtype, it appears that all of the bonus spells (Awaken Animal, Awaken, Baleful Polymorph, and Regenerate) appear in the fomula book immediately, instead of appearing at 7th, 9th, 9th, and 15th as per the rules.

Also, the Cruel Anatomist class feature of Vivisectionist, which should use your Knowledge (Nature) skill bonus in place of your Heal bonus, applies itself immediately upon putting points into (Nature) at first level, instead of 3rd level as the class feature states.

The available archetypes also don't seem to update their validity as well as some other classes. For example, Vivisectionist replaces the Bomb ability, yet Hero Lab still shows other archetypes that modify Bomb as being available. The Bomb-related discoveries show as unavailable though, which is correct.

Phew. After all of this, I can still make an accurate-enough character, but a few things have to be double-checked and worked around. Hope this helps someone!
 
Ok. I know this is the 6.8 thread; but since my original problem started with 6.8, I thought I would go ahead and post this here. With the 6.9 update today, I was hoping my "9-skills" issue I mentioned last week would magically go away. Not only did it not go away, HL crashes on most dialog closures (selecting a monk bonus feat, selecting an archtype, etc.) and this is with only a single additional skill. Sigh. Not my week.
