I'm at work and can't check my files, but here I go from memory: Some of the NPCs in Rappan Athuk were created using material form the Pathfinder add-on book library (Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, Bestiary 1-3, etc.). The files require you to have those files for them to work.
We have gone back and forth in the company whether we should include content from all Paizo sources (base books, not campaign specific books) or just the base Core rulebook. To get the feel for some of our NPCs, we really need to use the extended books. And, to be perfectly honest, we like the extra content in many of the add-on books, so our NPCs are not the same stagnant NPCs churned out adventure after adventure.
What this means for the digital fans is this: we are basing many of our NPCs of existing Hero Lab files for several reasons. We don't want to recreate the wheel with the data sets, and in fact it may be quite illegal for us to do that. In any case, it's not a cool business practice, and Paizo has been very good to us (and the entire community) over the years, so we're not going to step on their sales by releasing duplicate content. We are relatively new at providing this type of content, and are figuring things out (and making mistakes) which will be ironed out this year. We're trying to make our customer service top notch, to bolster our own name brand, give some support to the Lone Wolf guys where we can, and support the digital community in general (digital is the future, IMO).
So, the RA files use some of the extended data packages, and as such, the files will probably not work for anyone who doesnt have them (we have already been blasted for this in a couple forums, but feel free to pile on). This is stated on the purchasing page, and folks who received them in the Kickstarter actually got them for free, so the best I can do is try and help with any errors we have caused, and if the files are not working for you, they are possibly found somewhere in the community for you to try ( I do not know if they are, and I hope they are NOT, as they would not be a supported version).
Anyway, continue to post issues, and we will continue to work out the bugs.
