Looking for new Tyranids codex for Army builder

Hello,
I'm Chris and with the recent release of the Tyranid boxed army
they are including the Codex. Has an Army Builder update with these
new rules been made yet? I would appreciate the help.

Well I got the Codex last night and having had a quick look I will
say - I hope you enjoy figuring out how to make this one work Colen!

(e.g. the number of mutants (specialists) allowed in a squad depends
on the number of different species in the army... crikey (bear in
mind that you can make up your own species))

Well, you see there's no way AB can handle that - after all, you can have
12 types of troops in your army list total, even if you're only using 6 of
them in the current army. So this will be a simple +- clicker :)

Hey Colin,
One problem with the Tyranid codex you put in.... Hormagaunts have a
4 initative. I know it's a lot of numbers so I don't fault you. I'm
just glad you got it out so soon. The rest of it looks good. I'll
let you know if i run into anything else.

also, brood guard can take implant attack and flesh hooks... but
yeah, it looks good (and quite a quick turn around, thank you)

Hi Colen!

I have been using your new v2.17 files for a day now and I have
faound a few minor things (I think I hav alreaddy mailed you the
first 3 in private last night, but...)

1: Hive Tyrants can't be mutated - that is, they can't be give Acid
Blood etc.

2: Tyrants guards can't be attached to Tyrants - only as seperate HQ
units.

3: The cost for Warpblasts are mixed up for Zoanthropes and Hive
Tyrants.

4: Tyranid warriors can also be HQ's, not only Elite.

5: Leaping ripperswarms are still troops, not Fast Attack (though
with wings...)

6: The unique ID of rippers should be tyRipper, not tyRupper. :)

7: Vs. vehicles Bio-Acid spore mine have 2D6+3, not 2D6+2.

8: When a creature gets a mutation, say Exceptional size or Hive
Node, this is mentioned with a astrisk in the stat line, but the stat
is not updated (that is: a hormagaunt with Hive Node still have LD5),
and it does not say in the brood description, that the brood has the
mutation. In other words: The player must remember which mutations,
and how many, the brood have. I would prefer a comment like: "Acid
Blood * 2, HiveNode" for a brood having these 3 mutations.

Another correction regarding mutations:

When checking to see if a brood have to many mutations it size is
checked vs. number of species in the fleet. This is ok for gaunts,
but it gives a problem with muliwound creatures like Hive Tyrants,
warriors, Rippers etc. Here you compare the number of wounds vs. the
species count. Come to think of it: You can always check vs. the
wound count and get it right.

Actually this has to be modified a bit: Rippers never change
category, neither with wings nor with leap - they are always troops.

Gaunts, Warriors with wings are Fast attack, but no creatures change
category when they get Leaping ability.

Another thing:

It states that giving Hive Tyrants wings will give the HT Deep
strike ability, which is correct. The same is also true for gaunts
and warriors (though not for rippers) so the comment should also be
included for these creatures (in the tyWings option).

BTW: I have now made a AB file that have corrected the errors
reported until now, though I will let Colen get a chance to update
his version - after all it is 99% his work.

I had misread the description slightly; I was making two invalid assumptions:

1) You only counted the number of creatures in the brood - there are never
going to be 4 or more tyrant guard or whatever in a brood, after all, and
2) The mutant option only applies to broods.

I'm still a bit hazy on the second one. The text says something like:

"X models in the brood are required. If the brood has multiple wounds,
count them instead of models."

The way I first read this, I thought that only *broods* can get the
mutations - i.e., no hive tyrants or carnifi. But each of these has a
section saying "Brood: 1 model" or similar.

Any ideas?

Whatever you're trying to say here, it doesn't make sense :)

Tyrant guard can indeed be attached to Hive Tyrants, and the ab files model
this. However, the Hive Tyrant mutant entry doesn't say this, so mutant
hive tyrants don't get it.

No they aren't. Warp Blasts cost 20 for normal bods, 25 for Zoanthropes, in
my codex.

Pay attention, 007 :) There's an option to change them to HQ.

Check the summary table on page 36 :( INCOMPETENCE = MAXIMUM

Anyone got any ideas as to whether to pay attention to the table, or the
text in the individual species rules? I'm probably going to say to hell
with the table, but someone might have some ideas...
