HLO Improvements Wishlist (Character mgmt, Inventory, Dice)

I would like to hide skill feats when looking at general feats, to aid my selection.

Expanding on this, it would be nice to be able to exclude traits on many of the lists. For example, a barbarian might want to avoid considering feats that require concentration, or a stealthy spellcaster might want to find the silent spells.

So I thought there was a section for the in HLO, but I don't see it...

Character Description, Things like the following:

Birthplace
Age
Height
Weight
Apperance

Personality section to include the following:

Attitude
Beliefs
Likes
Dislikes
Catchphrases

Stuff you would find on Paizo Character Sheet Pack.

Edit: Just took a closer look, Some of that info is in Starfinder but not in Pathfinder.

Guess it has been removed...

Hey there,

So, I logged into HeroLab Online to get a screenshot to show you that Age, Height, Weight, at least, was on the Profile page. However, it seems to have been removed, intentionally or not. This being said, you can always make a Journal entry in the Journal --> General area all the way at the bottom left. You can put any info in there that you want. I create a synopsis of our adventures weekly that I then read back as a reminder for everyone, to save the GM work. This is also the area where you would enter any money or XP (if you don't simply level when told to) gained, in one of the entries.

You can always put your character info into one Journal entry and label it as such. I certainly put my background in here. It is easy to access with the character & if you use the Campaign Theatre the GM can see this info easily as well, including any changes made or added.

Something strange for us to miss. I'll add this to our list of suggested improvements.

Update: Another user already reported this, and it's been fixed and will go out in the next update.

This is a minor thing, but for organized play (Pathfinder Society, Starfinder Society), it would be great to display the characters character number and faction in the Character>Profile section of the Play tab.

Hi there. A couple of ideas from me. Would be great to allow us to retire cast members who are linked to retired scripts without having to unlink them all.

Also, the Cast Members names appearing on the initiative tracker is annoying AF. Even if I rename the character they can see the monster category I've used if from the bestiary. Also on initiative, when multiple creatures are present, the numbering system is handy, but again, my PCs can see this. Would be much better if the #number ONLY appeared to me as a GM.

Finally, afflictions / conditions, would be amazing if you could set like a 'default conditions' to add to each monster? These would include stunned / prone / grabbed etc. Having to add every single time for each monster in a battle is frustrating.

Overall though, just finished book 1 of Extinction Curse and my guys are loving the programme. Keep up the great work! Cheers.

An indicator of some kind on the combat tracker for conditions? Such as stunned, blinded, bleeding and so on. If it is just the word spelled out when the condition is applied. There seems to be plenty of space. I'm no coder so no idea how difficult that would be.

Does anyone know if there is a timeline for the addition of an inventory management feature to HLO? It is also called "party loot management" in the Campaign Theater Primer document.
This would be an incredibly useful feature, even if we don't yet have shared content between party members.

A couple of thoughts:

I would prefer to not have a "two click" system to turn on active special abilities. Things like rage would work perfectly well as a check box. Right now, you have to click active, click another box and then close the window again. Same would go for arcane strike or others- each turn on/off is at least 3 clicks when it could be one.

I would also be curious to hear the reasoning behind a GM not being able to modify a PC character. It would be nice if I could set condition on the player myself (grappled, prone, etc) vs having to look and double check that they put it on (or picked the right one, etc).

I would also echo the questions about "When is it going to happen" for the group inventory, as well as spell adjustments. It will save our group a whole lot of time if the bard can just apply haste to everyone, instead of each person having to add it themselves.

Dark mode

Dark mode. It’s been available in most modern browsers and operating systems for 2-3 years now. Would be great it my eyes didn’t get burned out when changing tabs to HeroLab during night time character design.

I thought I had figured out how to add XP to all characters in the campaign theater at one time, but now I can't find that functionality. Does this feature exist in the campaign theater?

I'd love to see full-text searches in HLO. That searches are "name only" is the primary reason for me to continue to make my characters in HLC.

When searching the forums about information, I read that a full-text search was being worked on end 2019. There was a rough estimate that this could be available early 2020. Its a year past the original estimate, which is fine since plans may change. I do think, however, that any information I found is no longer accurate :)

It would be great if we could get a bit of an update. Is the full-text search still on the HLO roadmap? If so, is it possible to give some sort of prognosis? Like, does it have a short-term priority perhaps?

With the ease of retraining in PF2 it would be really nice to have a record / log of what level various feats were taken at (same for skill increases on new skills).

The theme swapping they added recently covers some of this. It's not a 'true' dark mode in the sense of inverting/swapping colors while keeping the same theme, but you can do the gear icon -> Settings -> Skin & Theme and pick Shadow or Amethyst to swap any game system to a darker look.

A few things I would like to see:

Full text searches for items/feats/etc. I often find myself opening up classic just to search.

A toggle for Spell Combat (-2 attack penalty)

Implementation of Monstrous Physique/Elemental Body/Polymorph spells in general. Using adjustments is very cumbersome.

Size as an available modifier type.
