Gestalt - Community Package....

Once you get an error message HL goes into Safe Mode so loading a character will not work.

The above error was caused by a clash between the 3PP Pack and Pathfinder v11.2. You need to download the latest 3PP Pack v1.9 and the above error will be fixed.

Whenever you upgrade Pathfinder make sure you always grab the latest Community Packs also. :)

Awesome, that fixed it. Thanks and sorry for not doing my proper research before posting my issue. :D

Thanx for the Gestalt tool.

I have a level 4 Monk (Zen Archer)/Druid (Wolf Shaman). I'm getting a Validation Error saying "Still Mind (Ex): Replaced by more than one Variant Class" even though I only have Zen Archer under Monk.

Thanx

Scratch that. Its not a Gestalt issue, its a Zen Archer issue.

Is there an adjustment that can be made to allow (3) classes in the Gestalt when normally there are only (2). I had GM recruiting for Triple Gestalt and another one that was Quadruple for An All Out War with the Dragon Hoard campaign.

No nothing like that at all. It's hard enough to get "2" classes to work let alone four... :(

That's cool Shadow, thanks again! I just wanted too see if there was an adjustment that could be done to allow it. It probably will not be too difficult to add 1 or two more if I use the primary stat classes first, then it just becomes class skills instead of hps, saves, and etc.

*Taps chin* You know, for 3+ Class Gestalts... I wonder if we could work with Class Templates somehow using the Editor. Maybe something that grants appropriate class abilities based on HD (1-20), with a note to make any further changes (saves, BAB, etc.) in the adjustments tab...? It'd be kind of rough - and with Archetypes being a thing, maybe it would be best as a set of instructions showing exactly how people could do it themselves - but... maybe I'll look into that.

I found what might be an issue with the way the HL calculates a Monk's Flurry of Blows for a Gestalt Monk.

As a 9th lv Gestalt Character, with 9 of those levels being Monk levels, my base attacks come out as +6/+1.

Flurrying as a monk of 9th level, that should get bumped to +7/+7/+2/+2

HL is showing that my Flurry should be +13/+13/+8/+8/+3.

So, it's showing 5 attacks instead of 4. Maybe whatever check is in the logic that determines what feats a Flurry can pretend to have is miscalculating?

I can't even begin to fathom where the bonuses went off the rails.

That could be because after HL adds in your Ability Bonuses and/or Magical Bonuses that it is for some reason taking that as your BAB instead of your adjusted attack. SO it thinks in reality that your BAB is actually +13/+8/+3, and then adds the flurry attacks making it +13/+13/+8/+8/+3.
Im not sure how that would be fixed via the code but ya.

Gestalt Bugs/Issues

This is a very large thread so forgive me if this is something that has been addressed already.

I have noticed two issues with how gestalt handles CR and APL, The first is that a gestalt character's CR seems to be calculating incorrectly. Lets say I have a gestalt Arcanist/Fighter 5

It seems to be saying that the CR is 14, granted the CR of a gestalted character is considerably higher, this is infact an inaccurate value by ANY reference point. From what I am able to tell it is counting the TOTAL number of levels taken, which would be 15 and subtracting 1. Fair enough, but believe that it would be more accurate to say subtract also the number of levels taken in the "Gestalt" class aswell to bring the total CR down to 9.

Even that CR9 is probably not very accurate because the overall CR depends on what kind of gestalt you've chosen.

For this CR issue there is a fairly easy and straightforward temporary fix. Just use the CR adjustment. But, I am sure that it would probably be possbile to code this as part of the gestalt class.

The second issue I have noticed is when Hero Labs Calculates the MAX gear value (both PC and NPC). The mouseover takes the total level of classes and uses that to calculate the gear value. In this case again, 15.

Which is obviously incorrect, the correct value would actually be 5th level. Because although they level both classes together technically for the purposes of gaming their level is supposed to be that of only one class.

I cant find any way to adjust this. Is there one, I am certain there is a way to say that although the character has taken 15 levels, they are infact only 5 levels.

See attached image.

Yeah this still has several issues (hence being in Beta). I still want to get back to this addon but too many other high priority tasks are pulling me. When I do get back to this I think I have an idea for a better fix but it will most likely be a MAJOR change to the addon. Which is both good and bad. :)

I would like to report a bug.

Whenever I create a Gestalt character and enable Pathfinder Society content (be it with or without restrictions), the first level gets the full hit die (too much in fact), but all subsequent levels of Gestalt only add one hit point.

AiRAyp-mgK2gtgOsM8X36MUMJEDam4uzwlN7fCXc3O7ufT4QcclN5PqngBiSmQ4H1akT5i6pCf3CNaU=w912-h834

The Oracle's Hit Die is d8, the Sorcerer's hit die is d6. The Swashbuckler is d10, and Ninja is d8. The Bloodrager is d10.

My Gestalt Levels are:
Sorcerer/Oracle = Hit Die should be d8
Sorcerer/Oracle = Hit Die should be d8
Swashbuckler/Bloodrager Hit Die should be d10
Ninja/Bloodrager Hit Die should be d10

Obviously the Gestalt is not available in Pathfinder Society, but if it were then the Gestalt add-on for Hero Lab would need to be debugged. Also, that is not exactly idle, since Bloodrager and Swashbuckler have the same Hit Die (if I swapped 1st Level Oracle and 3rd Level Bloodrager, then I'd have two extra hit points), but that didn't occur to me when I took the screenshot.

I am encountering the issue where I have no gestalt tab to select again, although this time I do not have any errors on start up and I have already updated to all of the 07-Sept-2015 community packs. I am not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? Everything is up to date on my end as far as I can tell.

Edit: And yes I have gestalt variant checked in the hero configuration.

Edit #2: I disabled the backgrounds tab from Ultimate Campaign thinking that it may have been interfering with the gestalt tab, but no luck. Still unable to get the gestalt tab to show up.

First, in regard to more save progression fun, the fractional saves option from pathfinder unchained adds an additional +2 to all fast saves, so when gestalting a paladin ranger you receive a base of +4 to all saves. Also among the character level goodness, I noticed 2 other issues. First is that you are given an extra feat at first level as herolab thinks you are third level. I found this out by looking at the second issue which is also from the unchained add-on. The variant multiclassing option acts as though the characters were level 3 and gives them their initial ability in exchange for a feat. I'm sorry if I just misunderstood most of the posts prior to this and these issues have already been brought to your attention.

As a note to future confused users, here is the procedure for using the Gestalt package, in full, gory detail.

1) Set up the community repository (full instructions for this step)

2) Once it is set up, go to the Find Updates tab, look for the Gestalt package, select it, and click Download.

gestalt-sc-01.png

It will download, then you will need to click "Start Import", followed by acknowledging that Lone Wolf did not make or review these files. Then click Finished, and load Pathfinder.

3) In the Hero Configuration, turn on the gestalt rules:

gestalt-sc-02.png

I also recommend scrolling to the bottom of the configure screen and setting the XP mode to "No XP Required for Advancement". It just simplifies things a bit, because otherwise Hero Lab will constantly be complaining that you haven't got enough XP to be level 6 when what you've actually got is 2 gestalt levels.

4) Go to the Classes tab and add levels to your PC. Start with the Gestalt class:

gestalt-sc-03.png

The gestalt tab will not appear until you have added a level of Gestalt. Once you have done so, add the two classes you want to mix.

5) Finally, go to the Gestalt tab and select the two classes you added.

There are a couple of steps in the set up that haven't always been explicitly stated before, namely turning it on in the Hero Configuration and adding levels of "Gestalt" to your PC. I hope this helps someone.

I tried this out for the first time and all I get when I try to pick classes under the Gestalt tab is "nothing to select".
