Well the Dwarf book has thrown me some key issues. Number one is that the runes no longer cost the same as you add more runes. Example the old style of Cleaving was 20/40/60 made it very easy to code for price cost. Now it goes something like this 10/35/65.

Under the old rules each Cleaving rune just added +1 to the Strength of the attack. Now 1 rune adds Armor Piercing special rule, a second one adds the +1 Strength and the third gives Killing Blow special rule. Again a coding issues it is a variable benefits which must then act and adjust the character line stat in some cases. I have some leads and ideas I took from the Flames of War dataset, time will tell if I can modify that code to fit what I need.

So what this means that the way runes done may change after the initial release. Still set for tentative next Friday 13MAR14

Sometimes I think GW writes the new rules/books just to mess with AB/other army list coders, but that would be giving them too much credit I think.

Well I am now bug checking the dwarfs. I have one major outstanding issue on the 100 point banner Slayers can taken when the Slayer special character is selected. The issue is Slayers can take a runic banner by default of up to 50 points. One direction is to hard code a single banner upgrade and use a rule to check for it twice the other is to find a way to track the 100 point banner while the unit has a 50 banner stat. Neither really jump out at me. So joy joy still on time for Friday.

All is quiet on the coder's desk

Due to only some small fixes the next release of 2.74 will be May '14. so if you found something that has not been reported drop a dime on the bug and let's get it fixed.

The Ward save issue, I think I have found some light but it will be at the earliest June before I am ready to intro it as it has some drawbacks and I haven't figured out what to do about Tzeentch special rules which modify.

News from the coders desk

I have completed the Nagash: End of Times entries and have dispatched them to several of my friends in my local gaming group to try and break. Expect to have one or two small issues, you always due, but baring anything major the fileset will release Oct 1st or there about.

Expect it to work as a ruleset, you will only see and be able to use the The L50, H50, C+25, S50, R25 Comp Ratio, Undead Legion, Lore of Undeath, the 2 Empire and WoC special characters only if you are using the Nagash ruleset.

If one or two others wish to get a beta copy drop me a PM we will talk.

I have had some excellent assistance in improving the data files. I have some bug checks to finish but still expect to release fileset by weekend of Oct 3rd.

Work on the Legions of Chaos is nearly completed along with a ruleset switch that will allow army specific magic items in a legions armies. Expect a on time Dec release on or about Dec1, could be a few day earlier bc of long turkey day weekend. But check back here for all the juicy details.

Work is now underway on the latest book Thanqoul, since we have only had some small none end of the world bug pop up from this last release, I am going to press ahead with getting the latest release code and have it live by the end of the first full weekend of Feb so expect a release while we all enjoy that great after super bowl is over and done, the Pro-Bowl, come on it's must see TV right :)

March Release notes: This will be a only bug fix and some background code tweeks to continue to update all statline modifiers with standard displays and descriptions.

Expect a release date of March 1st give or take.

Expect a quick bug fix by March 7th to fix something I broke with regards to duplicate magic items not erroring out. I got too smart for myself.
