(Drop Dead Studios) Spheres of Power: Official Support Thread

That's cool, I was just use to how Hero Lab did things and didn't think about the Readme file in the zip but I am now trained. I even went back to DriveThruRPG to see if it was added there and we know the answer to that.

On a separate note, I purchased the expanded options today but I would really like to have seen the Armorist Blaster and MageKnight Doomblade. I was kind of bummed when I didn't see them so when you have time, can you please add those two archetypes?

Turns out you and I both made the same mistake: Armorist and Doomblade are in the Destroyer's Handbook, not Expanded Options. Can't believe I forgot that.

Other news!

I just posted version 1.14. This adds a "drawback buyoff" talent pick. Previously the only way to reflect a bought-off drawback on a character was to delete the drawback. This allows for a more accurate character state.

1.14 also has some under-the-hood changes to accommodate...the Telekinetic's Handbook! A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to decide which handbook to do next, and I started doing a little exploratory work with the TK book to get a sense for how big a project it would be. I did a few talents, and then a few more, and next thing I know I'm halfway through the friggin' thing anyway so I may as well just finish it. Thanks to the holiday I was able to do exactly that, and I have now handed that book off to Drop Dead Studios along with the Geomancer's Handbook. So sometime in the near future you should see both of those data packs appear on DrivethruRPG. I'll be sure to let you guys know when that's the case.

Next I'll be implementing the Diviner's Handbook, because that's the only unimplemented handbook I currently own. Gonna have to pick up the others soon.

Oh well, thank you for looking into it! Eventually, I will have to get the handbooks or the compilation of thereof if there is one.

Try 'sphere' (singular). Or just give the hero a single level of the appropriate class and just look at "Only valid items" without anything in the search. Not every SoP archetype will necessarily contain "spheres" in its description or source title, so searching for that string isn't always the best way to find SoP content.

Been exploring SoP for my game (yes, I'm that Wyrm Ouroboros), and jumped into the Aolis Greenborn build. Discovered that my freshly-purchased SoP file for Hero Lab does not have the second level of Fast Diviniations in it, and while I thought I'd try to set that up, ran into requirements that I was unfamiliar with, so instead came here to let you know. Haven't looked back through the thread to see if it was mentioned, so I may just be repeating info. :P :)

What you're seeing is an updated version of Fast Divinations that appears in the Diviner's Handbook. Not sure if you knew this if you're new to SoP, but each sphere has (or will have) a splatbook dedicated to it, and I've only implemented a few of those in Hero Lab so far. For what it's worth though, the Diviner's Handbook is probably going to be next.

I am curious about something here, if we buy the herolab files from drivethrurpg and later on find out those purchased files had bugs and the author updated them, are we given a update link or are repurchases required? I ask cause I worry about buying code from a one time buy shop. Which also makes me wonder why more studios haven't partnered up with LW?

Yes, in the readme provided with each download is a link that you put in Herolab that will auto-notify when updates are available.

Sphere Summoner bug report.

The summoner gets a bonus Conjuration talent at every odd level.
The archetype makes me choose one of (or my only) companion, to serve as the Eidolon.
The archetype lets me choose whatever talent, at the correct level.

It does not apply the choice to my companion.
I can choose whatever choice I chose on the Summoner class tab, on the Magic Talent tab, and it then applies it.

If I take the class Cleric, and apply the archetype 'sphere cleric' to it...

The cleric gains a 'Life Talent' at every odd level.
Any talent that I choose on the Cleric tab gets chosen on the Magic Talent tab too.
And that talent (assuming it isn't one that you can take multiple times), is no longer a valid choice on the 'Magic Talents' tab.

Bonus 'Conjuration' choices are not working for a sphere summoner, as I would expect them to.
Bonus 'Life' choices are working for the sphere cleric, for comparison purposes.
