d20pfsrd Data Sets - Powered by Hero Lab....

Shadow I'm busy inputting the final part of CoT, as I'm using my own file when I upload it to Dropbox it'll overwrite the latest version.

Noting your changes in the thread do you want me to upload my file to a separate folder for merging to prevent data loss?

I created a v1.6 folder with a sub folder for you. Drop it in there. Thinking maybe everyone should put stuff in a sub folder with there name. Then as I merge together I can add to the main folder. Think that will keep it cleaner.

Sigh guess I did everything in the v1.4 folder. Oops. Been a long week. :)

So I just downloaded the latest version of the Community Bestiary files, and when I went to start Pathfinder, I got this error message:

most likely those items were included in a new package the LW offered, and the information was dups to the user community created.

Just a guess though.

To correct it just delete that one file from the Pathfinder folder and reload HL.

So I just downloaded the latest version of the Community Bestiary files, and when I went to start Pathfinder, I got this error message:
The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

Opps my bad. :(

Well to fix the issue right now I would simply do as Cheifweasel recommended here and delete that one file out of your HeroLab\data\pathfinder folder. The file is "PFRPG_Adjustments_ShadowChemosh.user".

So you can do the following:
1) Start HL and Pathfinder click through the error.
2) Go to "Tools->Explore Folders->Game System Data Folder"
3) scroll down to "PFRPG_Adjustments_ShadowChemosh.user" and delete the file.
4) Restart HL.

That for now is the safest way. I will need to think about how I plan to put in a permanent fix for the future actually. hmmmmm

I had the same thing. This happens when you have already installed the previous version of Shadow Chemosh's Adjustments, presumably downloaded from the Pathfinder OGC HeroLab repository.

I would suggest to keep the file PFRPG_Adjustments_ShadowChemosh.user and delete PFRPG_Adjustments.user instead. I am pretty sure their content is the same. At least, it's what I did, and the problem went away; I have yet to open older portfolios making use of the (older file) Adjustments.

Yeah my version includes the pictures too
Not no more. :)

The script I wrote I ran against every .por/.stock file in the Community Bestiary package. So all gone now. Actually took two scripts as I striped out the image and then found that HL didn't like that the image data was gone. So then I had to remove the Image element and tags. Took some time to get it right but still faster than doing each .por one by one.

d20pfsrd - Community Bestiary (vX.XX)

The Community has been hard at work inputting adventure path and 3PP monsters. I have combined all these different books into one large data set for the community. Inside you will find hundreds of evil creatures to torture your players with or I mean give XP too. :)

v1.6 - February 7 , 2012

  • Fixed the duplicate Thing error some people where having in v1.5 that was reported in THIS post by ChrisRevocateur. (ShadowChemosh)
  • For now everyone is going to get my Adjustments addon now with the Community Bestiary. It seemed the best/easiest way fix the problem without introducing a second issue when people opened up old .por files.

I meant my local copy still has pictures. I had stripped them in a copy before submitted, but I still use my originals.

Ahhh misunderstood. Yep I totally see the benefit of having the picture in there for the TC. In the game I am in now as a player the DM asked everyone to put some type of picture in there .por files so that he can pick out each character easier.

As the the one hosting the stuff I really prefer to not one day get a Cease and Desist order from Paizo. :D

After loading the community bestiary import file I'm getting this, I cant locate the duplicate AP40 user file on my system so I'm presuming its clashing with something else in the files!

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

Edit : Never mind I had a duplicate incorrectly named file.

What would make this a little easier to use is to mark the locations of each listed monsters in the overall list on the front page of this thread. That way when a user goes to look up the monster he/she does not have to try and figure it out at first through trial and error, (Is it a .por file, stock file, or is it in the race drop down menu sort of thing... (this make sense?)

Thanks for all the data this has.. I for one truly appreciate this as it saves me so so much work!!

Darksun is now depreciated and I have removed it from the Community Servers. Please get future Darksun updates through THIS post.

d20pfsrd - Darksun Setting(vX.XX)

RavenX have been hard at work inputting stuff from the Darksun campaign setting. It is now at a point where its ready for everyone to unleash in there games!
Note from RavenX: I just want to point out that the Dark Sun Conversion for Pathfinder is a Work In Progress and subject to change in future updates. I do not have everything implemented and working properly as of yet. I have put a lot of work into the data and still have alot to do.

After installing this data set you will have a new options that can be check marked in the Configure Your Hero window listed under the "Dark Sun->Dark Sun Campaign Setting.".

It does actually. Some tips is that under the Race tab you will always find the new races for use. As for the .por/.stock my goal is to actually have it so that they show up in both places. But the current mechanize for creating .stock file is a one .por at time approach. The same goes for when I get a .stock from an editor and taking them back out its a one at time approach.

I am hopeful for a future update that makes it so that we can select multiple .por files when creating the .stock file. Then I could keep everything as a .por and can quickly make the .stock file.

Until that time it maybe a little haphazard and for that I do apologize for now. :(

This is probably going to be a stupid question, but where are the Serpent Skull files to download? I can't seem to find them at http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/community-creations/hero-lab.
The Community Bestiary is one large add-on now. I am no longer maintaining the "Adventure Paths" as separate downloads on d20pfsrd as it was too hard and too much overlap with stuff being used from one .user file to another .user file. By having it all together hopefully it should allow for work to build upon an existing framework.

So everything is inside the CB now which only exists as a Powered by HL download. So the latest updates for your CoT and frumples stuff can be found by installing the CB using the setup instructions on the first post of this thread. That or you should have access still from DropBox.

Hope that helps.

Shadow you need to be careful with the Adventure Path monsters too, many of them are in print in the Bestiary books.

Yep, I had to remove some files from a program directory recently as they clashed with official sources. Ogre deformities caused a problem.

I'm now into the habit of capitalising the first 2 identifier letters in any data now with a source tag ie. CT, for council of thieves, xxxx unique id. CTxxxx

This helped a lot with ensuring duplicate things errors didn't arise.

It helps a bit. I thought it would have the NPCs, magic items, any new spells or equipment, etc. The monsters themselves will be a huge help.
