D&D 5e Community Pack

The most common reason is your getting an error on load. Once HL gets an error it loads in safe mode and will not load any .user files.

Do you have any of your own .user files that could have an error?

*edit to correct* I had downloaded it on my old laptop; forgot this was a new laptop. Still isn't downloading files with new source, though

I'm having a similar issue; downloaded the community pack in the past, worked fine. Recently updated HL, and community pack isn't loading at all.

I did have one file that I had adjusted, to enable a player a velociraptor animal companion, but I don't know how to check if that was the cause of the issue.

/me is a lit nerd, not a techie.

Is there a page on the GitHub wiki that explains how to grab the most recently-updated copy of the files from there? Anyone who wants to use the work I've done on GGtR, or Mergon's WGTE stuff, before the next big release would need to do it that way.

If there isn't a little guide already, I could make one.

Hello, I've been happy with all the great work the community put into this amazing pack, but having just recently bought the Mordekainen's tome of foes, I realise its content is not present in the pack and was wondering if it was in the works and would be added in the (near) future?

Thank you very much :)

Work is going slowly on it. There's only a handful of us currently working on this, since it's a volunteer thing. We just don't have enough people willing to put in the time to get it done. All the monsters have their basic stats implemented into our pre-release files. But most of them don't have their special abilities added. It's time consuming, but not terribly hard.

If you (or anyone else) are interested in helping with that, we have a whole tutorial on how to do it. We'd welcome the assistance!

The sooner we have volunteers willing to do it, the sooner we can get the file out to everyone.

Everything people need to try and help has been made. Just need volunteers.

Pre-Release Download File (Contains monster shells): https://github.com/Sklore/HL_DD_5e_Colab/archive/master.zip

Tracking Ticket: https://github.com/Sklore/HL_DD_5e_Colab/issues/834

Tutorials: https://github.com/Sklore/HL_DD_5e_Colab/wiki/Monster

It's really not that hard to finish them off. We just don't have the active man power.

Work for WGtE

I'm currently running Eberron in 5e (converting old 3.5 modules) and am updating/adding the the existing UA - Eberron file if anyone needs help on that part.

Or anything else. I'm volunteering :)

Anyone who wants to volunteer, sign up for Github and message me your UserID so I can give you contributor access.

You can contact me within the Hero Lab Discord Channel if you need to talk about next steps.

Keep in mind I'm in Australia though. So my available hours are rarely the same as yours.

Mergon has already gotten us almost completely up to date with the current version of Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron. I think he is still working on the Dragonmarks. But otherwise, the work is already done. You can pull down the whole Community Pack from the GitHub to get what he's done.

We really need work done on MTOF, but it sounds like you're specifically wanting to do Eberron stuff.

School will be ending soon (I'm a teacher) so I'll have some time to volunteer.

Steps to get involved?
1. Request access to GitHub
??

so if the current focus of effort is MToF (I need to go buy that), how do you "divide" work so no two people do the same thing?

Hello everyone!

I just created a Druid and tried the Gear -> Minion way of using Wildshape. Unfortunately there is a small bug that makes skills not get the correct mental ability bonus. Aka ability bonus numbers are still calculated based on the beast, not the druid.

Is there any way for me to fix this?

Did you apply the Wildshape Adjustment to the minion? That's what brings over those ability scores.

Yes, I did. It applies the mental scores and saves, also applies the proficiency boni to skills, but does not apply the mental bonus scores to skills. For example, Perception of a Wolf only changes from +3 to +4 when I activate the Wildshape Adjustment on a level 5 Druid with 18 Wisdom.

That's +3 proficiency bonus from the Druid instead of +2 from the Wolf, but still the same +1 Wis from the Wolf's own Wisdom score of 12 instead of +3 from the Druid's Wisdom score of 18. So the ability bonus recalculation is missing.

Furthermore I noticed that the Wildshape Adjustment needs to be turned off and on again when something is changes on the Druid main character (like a Wisdom increase or level). Else the new stats do not get updated.

Last but not least: Attuned magic items that change mental stats are taken over by the minion (Headband of Intellect), but physical item stats are not (Belt of Dwarvenkind)? Which one is the correct handling?

Taking a look at the github page, you guys have made serious progress since the last release of 2.2 in 2018.

Out of curiosity, what things do you feel are left to be done before a v2.3 release could be looked at? As a filthy casual, I would’ve thought the Wayfinder’s Guide nearing completion would ben the marker.

I've been doing the work on WGtE and due to illness I no longer have the ability to focus as I once did. Also, I've been spend time with the UA Artificer for my own campaign.

When I do get stuff done, I update the GIT site.

In relation to the updated UA Artificer, I am at an impass here waiting for hard coding changes required for the Half Caster to gains spells and cantrip at 1st level. WHat I have so far works, but gives red error messages and you have to add 1st level spells manually. No where near ideal.

Update Status

Is this still being worked on? I am just curious as I find it quite valuable, but a number of hardcovers have gone by with no release. Is there a way to use a git pull for now?

The last released update to the package was around March of 2018. We've been making a ton of fixes and updates behind the scenes, though.

Which begs the question to the other contributors: what are we shooting for to get the next release pushed? Is it just finishing the MTOF monsters?
