I'm adding a new monster to the editor and it begins play with +2 full plate, +1 heavy steel shield, and +1 unholy bastard sword. I can't seem to figure out how to have those as part of the creature's treasure, much like the balor starts with his sword. I looked at the balor as an example and didn't see how it was done.

What am I missing? I'm sure it's something simple. Thanks.

Just looked at the balor and it doesn't have any equipment if I just pick it as a race. The only way I know to have equipment is make the character in HL and save it as a portfolio. Then you can give it armor, weapons and gear just like a PC.

I didn't notice that. I thought it was part of the creature itself. Thanks.

You can bootstrap weapons and armor to the race, but then you are not able to sell it. Useful for constructs that are animated suits of armor and weapons.

I don't really need to sell it. If I needed to bootstrap it, how would I do that?

Click on the bootstrap button, then enter the Unique ID of whatever weapons you want the race to come equipped with.

But it's not something I would be able to easily do with the examples I gave above would it? I'm doing ok with the simple stuff but I get really confused with some of the more complex things.

This is more just of a "how to" question. I've already done it the way ShadowChemosh suggested.

Customized weapons/armor can't currently be bootstrapped.

See the Balor stock portfolio (Portfolio menu...Import Stock Hero...Demons) for how the Bestiary monsters were stored with the equipment listed for them in the Bestiary (make a finished portfolio and save it).
