Hello,

We still use some of the Complete books while we play Pathfinder. Is there a way to import some the 3.5 sources into the Pathfinder ruleset?

Thanks!

If you mean "import" by taking d20 data sets and just placing them into the pathfinder system then no. The d20 .user files are not compatible with Pathfinder .user files.

If you mean "import" as to use the built in Editor to input the classes into Pathfinder making conversions as necessary then yes you can do this. You can also "maybe" find some 3.5 converted stuff already from cheeseweasel's site listed in my sig.

Pathfinder - d20pfsrd and Pathfinder Pack Setup
3.5 D&D (d20) - Community Server Setup

I've been converting dark sun into hero lab using the 3.5 yo pathfinder conversion guide on Paizo.com you may want that as it has helped me in converting 3.5 dark sun materials

Thank you for the head's up. I'm thinking that the option I am thinking of is importing the classes into the editor. I have a player who is a 6th ranger, 2nd Spherewalker, 1st Masterthrower, 2nd Uncanny trickster. So I will need to Edit the Masterthrower, Uncanny Trickster, and Skill tricks.

Would you be able to point me at the directions for "importing" d20 files into the pathfinder section so that I can edit them? Thanks!

well its not "importing" as much as it programming it yourself.
Go to Tools>>Launch Editor>>Classes Tab
You can then start adding classes in to your hearts content. (Which is what I am currently doing.)
The Class special tab is for the class stuff your characters gain. The class tab handles both regular classes and prestige classes. Also keep in mind that in pathfinder many of the hit dice were bumped up. d4s were bumped to d6s. Get the free conversion guide for pathfinder and have fun inputting your custom classes.

Correct its as RavenX says....

I wish there was a very easy "import" option but the truth too many changes even the RULES let alone between the programming structures from 3.5 to pathfinder.

Yeah but I am having little to no trouble converting things and adding them via the editor. I am doing the Athas.org 3.5 Dark Sun book and Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed [which is in all honesty a wonderful book, they did a great job converting 3.5's expanded psionics handbook into pathfinder](mostly putting in powers for TCArcKnight) and I am not having much trouble. I do have experience with C++ and am finding that XML is slightly less annoying than C++ was to learn. I have nearly converted everything from the Dark Sun core rulebook. Just have prestige classes to work on now and that will be done.
