Can it be that the experience and level up mechanic breaks once level 20 is reached?

I have a character with 8 Cleric, 2 Fighter, 10 Prestige Class 1 and 1 Prestige Class 2 and the experience counter ceases to function once I added the 20th Character level. It allows for level up all the time and does list the experience as xxxxxxxxx/0 instead of the usual notation.

That is beside the point that there would be rules for epic progression:

Supporting epic levels is not something we currently do. If the XP table seems to be broken, please submit a bug report with details. I've corrected one issue with that, but it's possible what you're seeing is seperate but related.

I send a bug report.

It's not epic level as in the 21th level of a class, but normal going into level 21 with Class A 15 levels and Class B 5 levels.

Paizo states that for level 21 one needs twice the amount it took to get from 19th to 20th level, then again double for 22, again double for 23 and so on.
A mechanic that surely should be supported...

As this has come up before. Please make sure you understand Pathfinder does NOT have Epic in it. They have "Mythic". See THIS thread for details where the CORE rule book comes right out and says "no epic levels" in Pathfinder.

Be that as it may, the behaviour of Hero Labs
  • allowing me to add levels indefinitely
  • not calculating the XP anymore nor display a message stating that such levels aren't supported
  • and state that the Hero is not okay, for he could have a new level
is certainly not acceptable programming.

And the behaviour starts at level 20, not level 21. I tried it with different classes.

Yes, there is a bug with the XP table at the moment, as I said. One such has been fixed, but I haven't caught up to yours to see if you're reporting the same or something different.

Yep those are all bugs that should be reported and fixed. I just ran into the level 20 issue myself. I was still checking my own scripts to make sure it was a bug in the CORE of HL not my houserules.

Make sure you have reported the bug HERE please. Forum posts are not bug official reports.

Already did that, using the first link, since I figured it was an issue with official Paizo stuff...

It's a suggested mechanic, not a particularly supported one.
