Hello, Its been 3 years since Ive played Pathfinder and I can not figure out how to move existing characters from my desktop version to my iPad. Used to be an option to "export file" that I would email to myself then open on the iPad. Now there is an export tool that for the life of me I can't get to work. When I try to use this tool it won't let me move just one character file but is trying to move whole folders with hundreds of files that I can not deselect. I just need to be able to take existing characters and get them over to my iPad. Thanks for the help.

I'm using Windows 7 and iTunes 12.7.0.166, and this is how I do it.
* open an Explorer window showing the desktop directory I have the .por files stored * connect my iPad to my PC with the USB cable * open the iPad in iTunes by clicking the icon below the menu bar * click on File Sharing in left column * click on Hero Lab in the Apps column * I can then drag and drop files between the Explorer window and the list of Hero Lab Documents in iTunes, copying files in either direction |

Save your desktop .por files to Dropbox
On your iPad install of Herolab, import your files from Dropbox. |

Another easy way is email .por file to self. Click on the .por file on the iPad email app and tell it open in HL.
Also the iPad app can now make use of ANY cloud service or app installed on the iPad. So feel free to put into iCloud or Googedrive etc.... Im gonna semi-bump my thread relating to the subject since I got no response on it, but clicking on the Import Portfolio button from HL and navigating to my old folder where my por files are has them all greyed out and unclickable (and thus they are not importable). I found a workaround but it seems like a bug to me, if there is a button to do something, and it doesnt,... maybe Im just doing something wrong, I donno.
Anyways, here is my original post. |
