So I added the mind flayer as a race to HL but for some reason it is adding spell like abilities I didn't include. For the life of me, I can't figure out why it is giving the creature:

Spell-like Abilities (At will) (Sp) You may use the following as spell-like abilities at will as an 8th level caster: Detect Magic, floating disk, mage armor, resist energy, unseen servant.

Those appear on the Output Active Hero Summary and when I mouse over the "?" on the Specials tab. When I look at the Spells tab and on the Character Sheet they are listed correctly.

I double checked my work and it should have: Charm Monster, Detect Thoughts, Levitate, Plane Shift, and Suggestion.

Am I doing something wrong? I can send someone the user file if that helps.

What race did you copy as your starting point?

I didn't copy any race. I created it completely from scratch.

Among the racial specials you bootstrapped, what are the names and unique Ids?

I know you're busy trying to get things ready for the Advanced Player's Guide release by Gen Con and you are working on dozens of other things as well, have you had time to figure out what I might be doing wrong?

Sorry I didn't get back to you.

That can't be all the racial specials you've added - don't mindflayers also have abilities for grabbing and brain-sucking? The abilities you've listed are only spell-like abilities, and there's probably something else adding that random piece of text.

Sorry, I thought you only needed the spell-like abilities.

I didn't realize that this was the problem right here =

Spell-Like Abilities: rPfWitSpel

I removed that and everything is fine now. Thank you.

Not to kick a dead horse, but I have pretty much figured out how to make this race in custom. The only problem I'm having currently is in the skill point area. I 'copied' the intellect devour and reworked it into the Mind Flayer. New spell like and so on, but I can't seem to find where to readjust the inherent skill points provided.

Mostly likely these are in an "Eval" script on the Race.
