I'm trying to create a custom class in the editor, but I can't figure out how to make new class abilities. I gather that it's done using bootstraps for the standard classes, but I can't figure out if I can make custom class ability bootstraps. Any advice?

Custom class abilities are created under the Class Specials tab. You can create the new ones there, then bootstrap them onto your new custom class. When you create Class Specials, it will have a menu you can select your new custom class and at what level that class gets that ability. That way, when they are bootstrapped, those abilities will appear on your custom class at the appropriate levels.

Ah, thanks, I can't believe I didn't think to look for a tab for it.

Followup question, now that I've got class abilities taken care of I've noticed that the class tab doesn't show up when I add the class to my character.

Is it linked to a Class Helper?

I'm fairly certain yes. The class level has the class helper bootstrap at least.

Did you source it? I mean did you put in a source under Sources? That's all I could think that isn't allowing it to appear in your list. If you did source it, you'll have to include that source in Character->Configure Hero. If you didn't source it, then it's something beyond my knowledge.

That's done it, thanks.
Also, I'm going to assume this is a no, but is there a way to alter BAB progression? Specifically iterative attacks. They don't really work as written and the homebrew I'm using made it so you only take 5 out of your BAB once. So a level 15 character with good bab attacks at a base attack of 15/10/10, instead of 15/10/5. Last edited by Darkling; November 9th, 2011 at 01:27 PM. |

I could be done, but it might require a rewrite of the charcater class you are using it for. Basicially creating new classes.

Actually I am pretty sure the answer is no. Attacks are controlled in the structural files that we can't change.
