HLO Improvements Wishlist (Character mgmt, Inventory, Dice)

Hey, so I tried to make a post in this forum but that's stuck waiting for admin approval, and the reply to my email did not inspire confidence -

I've been a customer for 12 years and up until recently, I had no problem with spending money on these products, but I see how there are clearly support staff reading these questions and concerns and other people like me who spend hundreds of dollars on these products are getting no or lackluster responses about what to expect for investing in this platform.

What is and isn't being developed right now? Is Starfinder development on Hero Lab dead? When the new books for pathfinder launch in November, how long will the implementation take?

Other companies are communicating clearly and in fact generating hype about their products' future, but you can't squeeze an answer out of Hero Lab. Why?

I asked where all the missing content was for Starfinder only to have someone ask me "what exactly is missing?" (Lol) and when I elaborated on this I was ignored. So I asked about refunds and eventually got a response (but I submitted a second ticket and I'm still waiting to hear back on that).

I don't want to have to refund anything, and I don't want to invest in a different competitors platform, but I'm not spending money on a company that doesn't stay up to date and doesn't communicate why.
 
On the character selection page - Folder settings - I'd like to make all characters in a particular folder of characters share certain settings, such as GM approval requirements, validation options, advancement speed, etc.
 
I imagine they are read but you'll likely never get confirmation about anything being worked on, unless Lone Wolf changes their approach quite a bit. They have historically not shared their roadmap or product backlog, beyond some high profile things like trying to release new books for PF2 (and maybe Starfinder, I don't play much SF) concurrently with the street date for those publications.

I'd love for Lone Wolf to be more transparent about the product backlog and maybe even make it public to let people vote to get some feedback on the most-desired features. I think a lot of work went into the Vault, which unfortunately I still haven't found much use for. The big draw for HLO was also going to be the collaborative features and sadly those have languished while in favor of other things.

Visible Class DC

Adding a quick Class DC line to the interface3 would be nice. There are many times I need to calculate it off the cuff on non-spellcasters due to there not being a line item that lists Class DC.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet as there were 13 pages of messages and I didn't look at all of them.
 
Skills should have rolls that include MAP. The primary thing I'm thinking of is combat maneuvers and escapes. Having a quick way to use them as second or third actions without editing the roll or manually subtracting would be great.


I'd also like to add another vote for visible class DC. It's annoying for classes that don't use it often enough to remember it.
 
Wish list?

Was just looking up class DCs and do wish HLO had them.

A GM controlled list of loot items to hand out through the campaign that could just be transferred to characters as they pick through the enemies bodies. We often have to stop game and advise people on how to add specific things like an enchanted frost sword taken from a slain enemy which has to be recreated on the character. It would be great to just hit a button and transfer it from the foe or from one PC to another.

If we're dreaming up stuff, a campaign dashboard or ability to output of specific character info for all characters in a campaign without going to individual ones and exporting to review would be cool. Like export just a list of equipment, magic items, etc into a csv from all PCs in a campaign that I can check.
I often poke around my players characters in a campaign and see all kinds of errors they don't resolve, like doubled selected skills, etc.
An output of character errors would be cool as well as an output report of say everyone's equipment so I can compare that to the wealth by level as they advance and realize they need upgrades.

Some sort of GM party treasure tracker, even if its just a text box to take notes. I try to keep track but put it on the players to keep notes on items they grab for the party to deal with later. Often they go to sell all the loot they don't equip and nobody remembers what anything is or where they got it. It is on us to keep notes sure, but if I've got HLO open I can make a note for the campaign and save it , that would be amazing.

Ability to whisper via some chat feature to individual PCs. If 4 people roll perception and 2 pass, I'd like to ping them and describe what they see without the others knowing so they can communicate it in character. Chat apps can do this sure or some VTTs but if HLO could, it would be great. Probably a huge lift to add a chat feature but I dare to dream.

There are a bunch of character creators out there but HLO is way better as its also a great encounter, monster and campaign manager. As a GM who does all the heavy lifting for their PCs who don't have time to use HLO outside of game day, it would be great to see some GM management stuff.
