I'm getting 3 errors:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'tmABCrSwm' (Eval Script '#2') on line 8
-> Tag 'IsWeapon.wManSpike' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'tmuCreatSw' (Eval Script '#2') on line 8
-> Tag 'IsWeapon.wManSpike' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'tmuJotunbl' (Eval Script '#3') on line 31
-> Tag 'Race.rClouGiant' not defined

after installing the Community Bestiary. Is there an easy way of removing the offending files? I'm just not sure which ones are causing the errors.
To use the CB you have to have the following official data packages: Advanced Players Guide, Bestiary 1, Bestiary 2, Bestiary 3, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic.

Yes their is a very easy way to remove this data set. Start HL and select "Tools->Manage Third Party Updates" in the new window it will show all the packages you have installed.

Select "Community Bestiary Package (v2.0" and then select "DELETE". Restart Hero Lab and you should be right back to where you where.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! To you and all the authors involved!

You've just saved me a TON of work for my LoF game I'm about to restart!
Definitely downloading this as soon as I get to my other game tonight
The thanks for this goes to Frumple.

Just an FYI the actual .por files you have download from d20pfsrd as a zip file called "AP19 Legacy of Fire NPCs.zip".

A few errors crept up...

File: PFRPG_Bestiary_Modules.user (line 46) - Thing 'ruGutdrgLr' - String exceeds maximum length for attribute 'value'
File: PFRPG_Bestiary_Modules.user (line 2133) - Thing 'ruFrostyCh' - String exceeds maximum length for attribute 'value'
File: PFRPG_Bestiary_Modules.user (line 3207) - Thing 'ruGiantGui' - String exceeds maximum length for attribute 'value'
File: TouchAttacks.user (line 9) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('wTouchAtta')
File: TouchAttacks.user (line 22) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('wRangedTou')

Using HL for the Mac, with a complete array of user files/community enhancements

EDIT: For the "strings exceeds max length" errors, is it possible that the max length on a mac is shorter than on a PC?

Have to look at my notes but I think this is caused by the way a character like " is copy/pasted from a PDF into Hero Lab and Windows converting it to a strange character Mac's can't deal with.

Checking.....

Yep its because of the characters: & # 1 5 1 ; and & # 1 4 6 ; <= WITHOUT the spaces but without the spaces HTML browser correctly interrupts these HTML Escape characters. Which just searching through is ALLOT of .user files. I will have to write a RegEx script and Grep it through the files. Oh well at least I will be able to remove these for future stuff also. I will have to check all the other data sets also to make sure these don't creep in.

File: TouchAttacks.user (line 9) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('wTouchAtta')
File: TouchAttacks.user (line 22) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('wRangedTou')
For this did you maybe add "Touch Attacks.user" file yourself and renamed it? That would be my guess here. I made sure to leave the name as what I originally posted on d20pfsrd so that it would over write it.

So you could also just delete this single file to remove the duplicate thing error.

The Community has been hard at work inputting adventure path and 3PP monsters. I have combined all these different books into one large data set for the community. Inside you will find hundreds of evil creatures to torture your players with or I mean give XP too. :)

v2.1 - August 7, 2012
-Mac data fix.

If someone with a MAC let me know if this fixed the issue I would appreciate it. :)

I indeed had both TouchAttacks.user and PFRPG_TouchAttacks.user in my data folder. Removing the second file settled that issue.

Please note that there are 2 Ranged Touch weapons available; one is from TouchAttacks.user; the other (id wRTA) is tagged to the HeroLab Community, but I do not know in which .user file it is coded.

This would be my fault. I realized after I sent my reply that I would probably need the Bestiaries. Right now I only have the core and the ultimate books for HL. Going to buy the Bestiary package this week and reinstall the update for the Community Bestiary.

In the meantime, I was able to remove the missing references in batches until I got my data files to compile again.

Thanks for the help!

Shadow Chemosh,

Please check your PM. I am, to be honest, flabbergast, with the unabashed awesomeness of your Community Bestiary. Dude, I had NO IDEA it was this complete. No frikkin idea AT ALL.

This is ENNie Award worthy stuff. You and your crew deserve some laurels -- and I aim to ensure you get a few. Out-frikkin-standing sir!!

/me bows

Hi there,

am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

So after installing this data set you will have a large number of books that can be check marked in the Configure Your Hero window listed under the "Hero Lab Community" section. The adventure path monsters are all setup to work under the already included Adventure Path books. Please note that not EVERY book is fully inputted at this time.

Additional HL Packages Required
To be able to use this data set several different official HL data sets are required. Maybe this will change in the future but for now this data set WILL NOT LOAD without these official packages. The latest packages list is: Advanced Players Guide, Bestiary 1, Bestiary 2, Bestiary 3, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic

Note: Some of the .por files may require additional packages to load correctly but they won't cause Hero Lab to fall into Safe Mode. Unfortunately at this time there is no easy method to track this so all I can do is give a warning.

Where to find the Monsters
1) Some of the monsters are included as .stock files and you find them by going to the HL Menu "Portfolio->Import Stock Hero...".
2) Do to the massive size of the .por files, 600megs as of 8/5/2012, I have stored each adventure path and module as a seperate .zip file that you can get from d20pfsrd. These are all stored in the "Community Bestiary" folder at the top.

Version Notes

v2.2 - September 3, 2012
-Added in the missing Chapter 6 Council of Thieves data. Sorry Bodrin.

Version Notes

v2.3 - September 9, 2012
=Frumple=
-Added all of Tome of Horrors starting with the letter "A".
-Updated the "Tome of Horrors" stock files.
-Finished Chapter 6 of Skull and Shackles including the Bestiary and Encounters.
-Added Chapter 1 of Shattered Star including the Bestiary and Encounters.
=ShadowChemosh=
-Did the Mac data fix to all the new .user, .stock, and .por files.
-Removed all the images from .stock and .por files.
-Fixed "Devil, Drowning" (Skull and Shackles) as it appears the spell "spHydrTor2", by LW, was incorrect or actually attached to some other official data set then the APG. I changed it to "spHydrTor3" and things started to compile again. Got LOTS of strange errors on this one!!!!!!

Mild bug: one of the files is named "PFRG_Carrion_Crown_AP.user".

Works fine, mind you, but if a well-intentioned user were to rename it "correctly", and update to a later version, it would effectively duplicate the file.

You are correct. This very thing happened on my system. :o

Community Bestiary questions/issues

I haven't had a chance to go through in detail and see exactly which files have mistakes, but I see a number of issues if I enable the community bestiary and the other community sources. I apologize if some of these are not actually CB issues...

1) Lots and lots of duplicates, both in the races, and in templates. For example, there are two copies of the Dread <undead> templates.
1a) Most of the time, the details are identical, but there are a few where the two entries vary. An example of that would be the Bombardier Beetle. Did they come from two different sources with different stats?
2) Speaking of not being able to track it down. The Beholder is somewhere in one of my data files. Can someone confirm that it's just me, or did WOTC PD end up in one of the data files?
3) Can we standardize on "Appears in" in the description of the race? Some entries have them and other entries do not.
4) A number of entries like 'Portal Golem', rather than 'Golem, Portal.'
5) This may be more of a philosophical issue, but there are a number of specific NPCs in the community bestiary. For example, Xulthos from the Legacy of Fire AP. He's a modified Glomeray Daemon, which is also in the bestiary... shouldn't NPCs like that be done via .por files?
6) The text for the Ghast reads that Ghasts are Ghouls with the advanced monster template. If that's the case, why do they have an entry? Why not just apply the advanced monster template to Ghouls?

Ya this can happen because a user will create a file and the LW guys will come out with an official version at a later time. Its very difficult to go back into the files and remove/delete sections of ther user created file. It can take along time to do once both the files are installed side by side.
