Pathfinder Bug Reports - Version 6.18

One or 1?

I am not 100% sold on this; wasn't the previous time it got discussed, either; it still is easier to deal with than extended fights over .5, 1 vs .5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3.

Especially since we don't know if there might not be new additions in the future.

PFS APs?

I would have thought this was easily fixed. Maybe impletement a drop box with all XP options and the player chooses based off what is on his record sheet.

If AP get added then update drop box with new xp valies.

+1 trait bonus to Diplomacy and Knowledge (History). The Diplomacy bonus appears but not the Knowledge (History), even after the knowledge skills is manually added

Reposting for context

Chilvarous trait bug

+1 trait bonus to Diplomacy and Knowledge (History).

The Diplomacy bonus appears but not the Knowledge (History), even after the knowledge skills is manually added

This seems to be a HL bug...

In the same portfolio, I have two different characters with wands. For the first character, the wand appears in "tracked resources" but for the second character no wands appear there.

FWIW, the first character has a single wand and the second character has several.

Wands have a checkbox on the Magic tab, so that you can differentiate between the wands you have with you and the wands that aren't currently available, and only the equipped wands are shown on the tracked resources.

When activating the Int boosting version of a Cognatogen in the in-play tab of a Mindchemist, it increases the number of bombs per day that can be thrown when it shouldn't.

Also the duration listed for the Cognatogen is listed at zero.

Getting the following error when opening a previously saved or creating a new Fighter (Brawler archetype) character. It's looks like it's part of the Close Control Class Ability.

I'm getting a similar error on the Cad Fighter archetype and the Dirty Trick and Steal maneuvers.

Oracle of Fire adds Oracle of Life spells?

When making an oracle of fire recently I noticed that the bonus spells are all cure spells and not the fire spells normally associated with this oracle mystery.

For the new Advanced Races Guide, the Samsaran alternate racial trait Mystic Past Life is not working. It is selectable but the main problem is that spells are not selecteable from the fields that appear in the Racial Template and Faction abilities area. Also, when anything is chosen, a "syntax error in dynamic 'candidate' tag expression" error shows up.

Also, in the Mystic Past Life field in the Add Alternate Racial traits area, is that supposed to list only one spellcasting class (the one you are in currently presumably) so as to exclude those spells from the final selection below? (Not that I would be able to discern that anyway, as the spell selection as previously mentioned isn't working).

You have to select a class below before spells can be picked.

I think the number of spells you can select is calculated wrong ie. if you are a Magus and your int. modifier goes up it ask for more spells, and I do know Mystic Past Life is not removing Shards of the Past.

All of the Tetori Monk bugs still exist. The biggest bug is the speed issue. All one has to do is make a level 1 human teori monk and his base speed drops to 15.

On a side note, this is the this time I have reported this particular bug. Is there a place we can see if these bugs are even being acknowledged?

I usually go through the bug thread as a project and catch up on it every couple months, and then we close it and start a new one. I've been unfortunately busy with the ARG stuff for the last couple months, but I do read and will address the bugs.

It's not my practice to address each one with a post. If it comes to a point where we have done a big bug update, close the thread, and your bug is still present after the next pathfinder release, please post it again. You should know, however, that even if a particular bug isn't fixed when reported, we usually store it in a master bug list maintained separate from these boards.

It seems that the Master of Many Styles Archetype is unable to properly ignore the pre-requisites of feats in a style feat tree as stated in the description:

Alternatively, a master of many styles may choose a feat in that style’s feat path (such as Earth Child Topple) as one of these bonus feats if he already has the appropriate style feat (such as Earth Child Style). The master of many styles does not need to meet any other prerequisite of the feat in the style’s feat path.

For example: When I pick Janni Style, I cannot pick Janni Rush as a monk bonus feat, instead the program offers Janni tempest instead (the next feat in the tree).

Edit: Strange, as I was able to do this before the upgrade.

That's been discussed before and is working as intended (barring an official errata to the contrary). If it was working for you before the update then perhaps you haven't updated in a while? I remember fixing that issue some months ago.

My apologies *and I don't mean to seem petulant here*, but a strict reading of the rules involved

Alternatively, a master of many styles may choose a feat in that style’s feat path (such as Earth Child Topple) as one of these bonus feats if he already has the appropriate style feat (such as Earth Child Style)

So, I need the base style feat to choose a feat in a styles path. Fine and good, if I want Boar Shred (the third feat in the style tree and a combat feat), I need Boar Style (the first feat in the tree and a combat and style feat).

The master of many styles does not need to meet any other prerequisite of the feat in the style’s feat path.

But I don't need the second feat in the tree, Boar Ferocity (a combat feat, and normally a pre-req, but not required in this case as a Master of Many Styles).

Or am I missing something here?

I wouldn't call you anything bad at all, but I don't relish re-researching and debating this a second time.

The final conclusion was that the "appropriate style feat" is the one that precedes it in the feat path, rather than the first in the chain. I do recognize that only the first feat in the chain has a "Style" moniker in the descriptions, but all feats in the chain are listed as style feats on pg 86-88, the example given mentions you can take Earth Child Topple (the second feat in the chain) if you have the first feat in the chain (Earth Child Style), and it doesn't seem that the point of the archetype or ability is to skip over the intermediate feats (are you really the master of a style if you can skip to the end of the chain and ignore the intermediate ability?).

There is some ambiguity, I'll freely admit, but absent an official ruling or clarification it will remain as interpreted. If you want to switch the interpretation for your home game, I could certainly help you make a replacement archetype that handles it as you prefer, but please, we should take that to a different thread than the bug thread.

Ah, no worries, I just wanted to hear your reasoning for it. (As I had searched and come up with nothing on the subject, though that might have just been search fail).

Well, yes, as you say, await a clarification. After all, I can always just add a custom feat when selecting the MoMS bonus feat that is of the description that I want.

What's the status on implementing the effects of Weapon Specialization (Quarterstaff) when using the Quarterstaff Master feat in the Staff Magus archetype? The first bug report I see on this is from over a year ago and it hasn't been fixed.

Also, any idea when the Ninja Trick "Flurry of Stars" will be implemented?
