Yes it is in the Seeker of Secrets .user file that is available from d20pfsrd in the Pathfinder Companions folder. As that is a community created site their has been some question on how exactly the feat is to work within the rules. Though one can always go in and edit the script for the feat file themselves.

As the coder for SoS - I believe something is wonky when not used as an Animal Companion. So there may be issues with a Familiar or other aspect that would allow you to use up to +4 of your character level to your 'animal' provider level.
But as I'm not much good with coding HL - I'm going on what I've heard from others when using Boon Companion for from the Seeker Of Secrets.user file.
Of course, if someone is able to 'fix' Boon Companion - please do so inside SoS.user and then send it to ShadowChemosh so that we can have a more corrected file. At least until Mathias gets off his lazy keyboard and makes a real Seeker Of Secrets file.....of course, he's being lazy, he hasn't finished the APG, and I'm sure many other files. Just lazy, I tell you. Sarcasm.

I noticed this very problem when I was working on a multiclass witch the other evening. I know nothing about how the coding in HL works and whoever has taken on the responsibility for SoS they seem to have broken that feature.
