I've got a Druid with the water domain who has access to the Icicle (Sp) ability and I'm looking for a way to list it as one of her weapons, with the appropriate ranged touch attack modifier and damage based on her level. Is there already a way to do this without using the editor?
If so, how might I go about it? If not, can I even use the editor to do such a thing and where would I start? Thanks! |

On the d20pfsrd HL Repository site is the Touch Attack weapons you can add to so that Touch Attack and Ranged Touch Attack are weapons that can be added on the "Weapons" tab.
TouchAttack.user is the file. It also comes with a pair of Adjustments that allow you to change the damage from "As Spell" to whatever you type in. Ok, cool. I had already added a handful of the (oh so awesome) d20pfsrd data sets and see the Ranged Touch Attack weapon listed, but I was looking for a way to specify the damage instead of having it list "As Spell" or produce some nonsense value like "_+3" when used as the base item for a custom Ranged Touch Attack weapon. I found the Permanent Adjustment you mentioned, but am unsure whether I should type in the textual value of the damage to be displayed (i.e. "1d6+2") in the (source) field, or whether I can reference the damage of the alilty in some way (i.e. Icicle.damage or somesuch). It's not a huge deal if I have to go modify the adjustement every couple levels, but it would be super nice to have it auto-update.
Thanks again for your quick response! |

You will need to manually adjust the damage as you go up in levels. If you wish you could use the scripts on the adjustment as a starting point to write a custom adjustment that would auto-increase the value as you go up in level. Doing so will require using the editor but it would be a pretty good introduction to the editor if you wish. I used the ranged touch attack data file you recommended, and it works marvelously on my desktop and laptop, but when I load the same portfolio on the iPad version (I realize this may be outside your realm of expertise or knowledge, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask) I get the following error:
Pick 'p1wTouch2' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '748' Any idea how to get the necessary data files onto an iPad such that the HL iPad edition knows about them? |
