Is there a way to keep an item from being displayed on the list of items available for selection/purchase by player characters. I would just like the item to be available for use with monsters/NPCs. I tried to identify a tag that could be assigned or deleted, but have not been successful.

Playing since the J. Eric Holmes original Basic set in 1977.

The easy way would be to setup the item to be hidden using the *Hidden tab and don't use that file that has all the hidden items yourself.

You could also setup a *Preclude that does the same as hidden but only when a specific Source is turned on. This way you could have a Source all your players turn on and you leave off for NPCs/Monsters.

I found a solution. I can tag the items as Helper objects with the [Helper.Helper] tag. This tag keeps them from displaying on the list for selection / purchase. I can still add them to monsters/NPCs as bootstrap items. If anyone knows of a way to allow them to display for selection by an monster/NPC but not by PCs, I would still be interested.

ShadowChemosh - Thanks for your comments, as well. I posted my solution at the same time you posted yours. Between them, I will have some options.
