Free upbringing feat question

Hi All,

I have checked "Free Upbringing Feat" in Configure Hero, but adding an extra feat under the "Feats" tab results in an error "Too many feats have been added."

Am I doing something wrong?

Did you select an "Upbringing Feat"? Their is only like a 9 of them or so as they where introduced in the RotRL players guide and never got expanded. Instead Paizo with with Traits instead.

That's probably it. I thought it meant any feat.

If you want that you can go to the adjust tab and increase the number feats you start with by one.

One thing my own group has done is use the concept of Regions from FR, and altered the rule to make it so you got an extra feat (rather than expanded what you could select from) to represent ones upbringing. As a result, I'd added templates for the regions in our world (it's a homebrewed setting), and simply made it so the template itself adds an additional feat. The only thing I'm still working out is how to limit *which* feats are selectable for this extra.

I'd look at one of the base classes that have limited bonus feats (fighter and wizard come to mind).

Look at the tags/fields for those bonus feat selections and add them to your template.
