I've already reported this as a bug. "My kitsune took the Fox Shape feat. My climb skill ability mod changed from strength to dexterity. I believe this to be a bug because I can find no resource that supports this effect."

Does anyone know of any legal mechanic that makes this so or do you also feel this is a bug?

Check out the FAQ question at http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fo#v5748eaic9qnq

"Any creature of Tiny or smaller size should use its Dex modifier instead of its Str modifier for Climb and Swim checks. This will be added to Bestiary 4 as a new Universal Monster Rule."

Bestiary 4, in the introduction to the Familiars section on page 96 says: "Tiny or smaller familiars in this section use Dexterity to modify Climb and Swim skill checks." So not quite the global ruling specified in the FAQ.

However, I guess HL should only apply this when you are actually in Fox form.
