yes, unzip them and drop them into that folder. That is if you are using te d20 files. There should be a directory for each game system

Just a FYI that their is a project going on to make the install easier in the future. Plus as you may quickly find that putting just one file(ie book) will cause errors. Most of the d20 system is now VERY interconnected and having just one book installed could cause issues.
So hopefully maybe by the end of the month we will have a import package of all the d20 stuff ready. This means it will be a single file called a .hl that when you double click will start Hero Lab and will correctly install all the files into the correct location for you. Then through the Configure Your Hero window you will just be able to easily select which books you want to use for your character. For more info see THIS thread. Ok, I did put them in that directory, but.... I'm getting errors like crazy now. I grabbed everything for the d20 system,
Here is a sample of the errors: The data files could not be loaded due to errors. HeroLab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors. The following errors occured: Syntax error in 'pre-requisite rule' script for Thing 'cExWepMast' on line 11 -> Non-existent thing 'rKenWep' used by sctipt Then there is about a page and a half of other errors along this line. Can you help? Last edited by LeeSmith; October 6th, 2010 at 11:35 AM. |

Lawful G very kindly sends his files to anybody that PMs him asking for them.
However I have all the files which are available on the cheeseweasel site. You can Pm me with your email address and I'll send them along. The Exotic Weapon Master does cause problems as it references a lot of things created by Lawful in other files. They all work as long as you add them in one go, as I got them direct from Lawful G. |

Yep sort of covered that in what I said above. Your best bet would be to wait until we are done compiling everything into one import package.
I am hopeful it will be near the end October if all keeps going well. Otherwise you will need to work through each error individually to see what is missing(could be you need another .user file) or why it is having an issue. Then fix that issue and then do a CTRL-R to reload again and see what the next error is. Rinse and Repeat. Ya, our hope is to correct this as soon as possible. In fact Shadow, we should try to get together, like on Skype or something in order to try and see how we want to proceded.
