Hi I have tried multiple times to create a version of my favorite old 2nd level high level character's magic Scimitar for a new campaign using the PF ruleset.

It is a Scimitar of Speed +4
With the ability to use Speech and Telepathy

At will: Detect Magic; Detect Good; Detect Evil; Detect Invisibility

Extraordinary: Heal 1/day

Speaks: Common and Elvish

Had an: ego 17, Intel 17, 34 personality 34

I have been using the HL Editor and the Weapon, Magic Tab.

When I try to save it I keep getting the following error: File: evil campaign.user (line 357) -Thing - Invalid unique id

Depending on which time I have tried to save the number associated with the line changes.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
-Matt

have you tried creating the weapon using the item creation option on the weapons tab?

The error message sounds like you have a space, invalid character, or the thing name is too long.

Invalid ID almost always means that during the process of working on your files, you made a copy of something else so that you could look up how it works - you need to delete all those before testing the file - they'll have an ID that includes "???", which is invalid.

I'd recommend paging through all the editor tabs, and see if you have any copied things left over, and delete them.

Mathias,

Thanks that was the problem.

Chiefweasel,
I could not find an option for adding heal 1/day through the weap tab inside HL. the only way I found was to use the editor.

Their is also an option called like Find Line Number. Not near HL so can remember it exactly, but it is located on one of the menu options in the Editor. Anyways that will allow you to type in the line number and it will display that line to you. That can often help narrow down the issue.

You could also open up the evil campaign.user file in note pad or a text editor, preferably one that shows line numbers, and then find line 357 to see what exactly it does not like. The .user file is actually just an XML file.

Hi Again,

I have it mostly set up. I do not know how to add 2 items (using the hero lab editor on the Weapon, Magic tab) so they show on the character sheet:
1) Speed (adds an aditional attack)
2) Adamantine

thanks again

Just add it to the weapon's description text, and make sure you check the "Show In Specials List" option. Once I get a chance to make the description text of items and magic items show up on the character sheet, that will be included along with all the other magic items.
