You dont have to use iTunes to get the .hl file to your iPad. You can Dropbox it or even just email it to yourself. Once you try and open the file via Dropbox or email on the iPad it will ask if you want to open it in the HL app say yes. Boom done. Using iTunes adds like WAY too many steps.
