Don't need to but I think it makes it easier to track. All you have to do is drop one files into the right folder and snap, its done.

So I have reinvented the wheel (like master of many forms PrC and several feats) because loading them isn't possible or is more work than creating by hand that which I need. If they were all in one file, the difficulty in finding the separate files would be decreased. The downside of this (harder for multiple people to work in parallel on adding new features) could be mitigated by them working on a separate file and handing that when done to someone who could merge into the "standard" file. |

True, thats why my push has always been for someone to take the mutilpe files after they have been created and combine them into a single one. One file would then exist for each source book out there.

There really needs to be one file per system (like D20 and Pathfinder) where all books from one publisher (WotC, Paizo) would be combined. If it takes someone willing to try to combine them to do it, I can try. If it takes something else, then maybe it can be detailed? In short, I'm willing to help in any way I can to get this to happen. If it takes the work of combining and I can get help from the authors, I'll volunteer. If it takes hosting the file (I can help), whatever I can do I'm willing to do. |

I agree that would be the final step, a new single file for each system. but it needs to be approached in smaller steps. A file for each item, combined to a file for each source book, then combine them to create a larger complete system file.
Once a stable system file can be created, we can just pass that around, but we are along way from there.
