To add just a Mythic tier to a creature, it needs at least one class level, and then add a Mythic tier. It requires a path, though. Additionally, it will not show this if you have selected a mythic template as it overrides the tier with Mythic Monster Abilities.
The "Simple Mythic Template" is on THIS post. It turns any monster into a Mythic Monster and allows you to select he Mythic Rank from a drop down.

Edit: Actually, I may be unclear about something. It doesn't seem to be keeping with the math of 2 Mythic Ranks equaling 1 CR. For instance, I loaded a CR 20 Maharaji Rakshasa and added 10 mythic ranks, for a final CR of 23. I've tried it across several creatures and it seems to be: 0-4 MR = +1 CR, 5-8 MR = +2 CR, 9-10 MR = +3 CR.
I assumed the mythic ranks would take care of that but I guess not. Sorry don't have time to fix it right now. Just use an adjustment to set the CR correctly.

How do I adjust that?

Go to the "Adjust" tab and then under the "other adjustments" section add the "Challenge Rating" adjustment. Set the counter to the value you wish to add or subtract from the CR.

It appears that my disbelief overrode my ability to read. For some reason I thought that LWD would have already put the little mod that you made as part of the official data package. It baffled me that they had not put in the simple "Mythic" option that you made. There are a lot of little mods that you make that I think should be standard.

Evil wins because good rolls poorly .... or the players are not paying enough attention to the game.

Is there a way to stop all of these Mythic foot-notes appearing on a "standard" character sheet? (I'm using the Pathfinder Society settings.)

Shadow - Just noticed something else with the custom simple template - it seems to add bonus MR hp twice. On the 'Classes and Templates' table, I see 7 mythic ranks adding 70 hp under 'Mythic [Mythic]' and immediately below in the HD bonus hp.

New Version
August 26, 2013 Tim Shadow
-Fixed the double HP bug.
-Now correctly calculates the CR rating.
-Adds a new tab called "Mythic Abilities" that allows one to select mythic racial abilities at the rate of MR +1 as per Mythic Adventures page 226.

Once I have this working I will see about adding it to the Community Bestiary.

Update: This is now part of the community Pathfinder Pack. Please see HERE for details to load the community Pack for this template.

I agree. In our home game, since the latest update all the Mythic details are appearing on Spell details, and probably elsewhere although this one is most noticeable. We aren't using Mythic Adventures, and I've not selected it in Configure Hero or even purchased the additional subscription, but the Mythic details are adding about 50% to the number of pages needing to be printing.

I've been looking for where to switch it off, but haven't found anything.

Is it possible for me to define my own mythic abilities, rather than having to choose from a list of other mythic creature abilities already created? If so, how do I do it?

What I'd like to be able to do with this, is to take an existing monster that doesn't yet have a mythic version, apply your template to make it mythic, and then define its new mythic abilities.
