I would like to replace a class ability, and I'm a little unsure as to how to do it. I have modified a handful of things already in the Editor, so I'm not exactly inexperienced. But from what I can tell this may be a bit more of a challenge than what I've done thus far.
Specifically, this is the 2nd level ability Detect Alignment for the Inquisitor class. I thought the best way to do this was to create a copy of the Inquisitor class and modify that - but the editor won't allow me to make copies (and yes, I have purchased those modules). Since I can't make a copy, does this mean I have to modify the class itself, rather than a copy? Is that even something I can do? Thank you for any help, Dayspire |

Then you give it a new Unique ID and do a test now to make sure it compiles/creates correctly. Once done their is a input text box on the far right under the blue buttons called "Replace Thing ID". What you do is type in the 10 digit Unique ID of the "Detect Alignment" that is the official version. Usually you can do a new copy again and get the ID from the window. Once you have the "Replace Thing ID" entered you can do a Test Now! and when done your new version will replace the core version. Keep in mind that once you do this Replace Thing ID and make future changes to Detect Alignment then "Test Now" will complain. You will need to do a "CTRL-R" to reload to see the changes take effect. Also instead of doing replace thnig ID you could do an archetype that does the replacement.

The only issue with this, granted its small, is that if a feat is looking for a specific Class Ability (ie Detect Alignment) you will not be considered to have it. Where if you use "Replace Thing ID" you will because both the modified tag and the original tag will get put on the Hero.
