Love having the button right there, but it would be soooo much more useful if it had a sync status indicator and a sync button there as well.

Thinking about it, I'd like it to be a "Sync and then open" button....

Sometimes I think there can be such a thing as overdesigning.

If you have a "sync, then open", You'd need three buttons:

1. A sync
2. A sync then open
3 An open

Or at the very least a minimum of 2. (because not everyone is going to want to sync before opening)

Also, with a sync then open, what happens if the sync fails, for whatever reason. Do you open? Do you produce an error message with an ok/cancel style thing, deciding whether to open or not. Do you give them a try again? Whenever you code, you have to consider all the possibilities when things dont work.

I think a "sync then open" button adds a lot of complexity and design decisions for what amount to saving a single click. Instead i think it makes more sense to have both. (having two buttons). A sync button and an open button.
