Have you reactivated your license on the iPad recently? I am assuming you made the character on your desktop and opened it for the first time on the iPad.
Start the iPad app. Click on "License" at the very bottom and select "Reactivate License". Only takes a few seconds. Then try and open the character again. thank you for the reply, i have, and that did not fix it.
I did however get a notice that Occult Adventures was not on my license. After a little poking around there was a time when Occult Adventures was in testing and available for free, i might have clicked to use it then and now it is no longer free. |

Are there any problems using your character, and after loading this character, changing something, and then opening the character again some other time, do you receive this message again?
If there's no problems down the line, then this was just HL warning you about the change in available books - that the occult playtest material that this character is recorded as having in use is no longer available. |

The specific error messages suggest you might have a gear item or two that no longer exists, and would have been deleted from your character.
