This sounds like a Ultimate Combat / Wayfinder 02 duplicate error! I had the same issue a few months ago and just removed the Wayfinder user file.
I think it's the craft guns skill casing the issue. |

Here is the exact error:
The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors. The following errors occurred: Syntax error in 'pre-requisite rule' script for Thing 'cGunslin' on line 1 -> Non-existent thing 'skCrafGuns' used by script This happens as soon as I load the Pathfinder set and before selecting a file or making a new one. I am going to see about removing Wayfinder #02 .user file. EDIT: Removed Wayfinder #02.user file. Now I get the following error: The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors. The following errors occurred: Source 'PZO9500_5' - Reference to non-existent parent source 'pPaizo' Last edited by NeoFax; December 9th, 2011 at 02:24 PM. |

This is why I have started using S2 in everything I do to prevent these duplicate thing errors from coming up. But I did this file when I first was learning HL. Quote:

Downloaded the new files and added the .1st files but still receive this error when Wayfinder #02 is in my path:
The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors. The following errors occurred: Syntax error in 'pre-requisite rule' script for Thing 'cPrCGunsli' on line 1 -> Non-existent thing 'skCrafGuns' used by script With it removed now everything loads fine. Thanks for the help! |

I simply don't have an answer as I can't duplicate the error. Everything works fine for me. I even put into my CoRE only data set and it still worked fine.
I really think there is some other error maybe your not seeing. Because I don't see any reason for the error your getting. I am sorry I don't know what else to do at this point. I think there is an error log somewhere. Hmm if I get time will see if I can find where that is. Hey Neo, do you have all the packages for PF? it looks like the advanced players guide package i not working or installed for some reason.

Yes, I own all of the packages(some are in bundles though). Like I said, it doesn't bother me that this particular .user file doesn't work as it only deals with Gunslingers and I never play them.

Issue in the "Council of Thieves" data set.
If you get this error after loading the "Council of Thieves" data set: Code:
Thing 'rCTAspidoc' - Bootstrap thing 'raWhaCapsi' does not exist Thing 'rTHLichSha' - Bootstrap thing 'rachilltch' does not exist Thing 'rTHLichSha' - Bootstrap thing 'raLSDeathr' does not exist Thing 'rTHLichSha' - Bootstrap thing 'raspellech' does not exist Sorry I don't have time to fix this right now so simply install the Second Darkness will fix the issue for now. I will work on a real fix as soon as I can. Just for reference the raWhaCapsi thing is from the official bestiary datasets. However Capsize now redone. The other 3 abilities have been redone to eliminate the missing things error! Both files re-sent to shadow! Last edited by bodrin; December 13th, 2011 at 09:33 AM. Reason: Addendum and bug fixed! |

Council of thieves dataset now amalgamated into one file, and reassigned with new bootstraps to prevent missing things errors!
