Okay, I've searched the forum until my eyes are forum blue. I'm now using the mac version and love it, but....
I cannot for the life of me find the data files to be edited with the HLEditor. I could do this no problem on the PC but in the 'pathfinder' folder (the game system I'm using) I just can't find the files?? Anybody tell me where they are? Are the in the .pkg files? If so, since these don't seem to be able to be opened, how do you edit a file?" All I'm trying to do is make a change to a trait that I don't like. Anyone? Thanks, all. Michael |

On my Mac the files are located off the root directory in a Hero lab folder.

I've checked all those place. I can find NO editable files. I've included an image that shows the files I see from ../library/application support/hero lab/Data/pathfinder/
None of those files are editable in the Hero Lab Editor. My suspicion is that the individual datasets (like Bestiary 1) are somehow in Bestiary1.pkg. The only problem is I don't get a 'Show Package Contents" when I right-click so I can't see what's in them. Very frustrated. |

You can't directly edit the data sets done by LW. You can only edit your own .user files. Be same on Mac or windows.
You can in the editor do a new(copy) and then a Replaces Thing ID to have your changes override the core thing. Replaces Thing ID. Thanks, ShaowChemosh! I'll do some reading and hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. Just one quick question.
I already have a .user file with other changes and additions, can I use that same file? |

Here is a image of what I am talking about. In this example I am replacing the trait from CC "Making Good on Promises" with my own version so I enter the Unique ID of the trait into the text box.
