I am trying to make a custom class (long story short, trying to make a succubus paladin whose racial abilities are staggered over several levels so that she is more in line with the power level of the rest of the party - rather than starting off as a full-powered succubus, she'll be gaining levels in her race and class simultaneously). So what I decided to do was go into the Editor and make a copy of the Paladin class, and add in some of the racial abilities of the succubus at certain levels, such as Natural Armor bonuses, and so on. But I didn't take anything away from the original paladin template, I just added to it. But when I try to use it in Hero Lab to make the actual character, it shows Mercies as a selectable option for her level, but when I select it, it gives me the error message "No mercies to choose from." Does anyone know how to correct that?

You need to tell HL that your new class uses the Paladin custom abilities. Its an option listed under the "Custom Ability" section sorry not near HL to give a better idea.
Basically your copy of Paladin is still treated in all ways as a "new" class. So unless you tell HL to link your New Class to Paladin choices/options it has no idea to it.
