Warbands

Hello. I was wondering what the chances were of getting Warbands rule sets into Army Builder. We play a lot of 500pt pickup games at my shop.

Thanks,
Marc

I would guess not very good any time soon because the files are still missing some of the main elements like WE, DoW, RoR and Kislev and they probably (and hopefully) get the priority here. If I understand correctly, including Warbands is quite a lot of work - I bet they'll be included eventually but hardly right now.

hi,

if you want to try adding the warbands rules yourself i will give you all the help i can! but i dont know when i will get around to adding them myself :-(

Well, I think the quickest thing you could do would be to include tags for each unit that identifies thm as "Infantry", "Calvalry" and "Monster"...Then a global script could be writen (I think) that resets the minimum unit size to the appropriate levels...

Of course there are other steps to take but including those tags would add the single biggest step forward...

Warbands Band Aid

Hello,

Sorry been away from this for so long. I have a 'band aid' for warbands.

What I've done is to modify each army so that every troop choice is now the right minimum for it's base size. I.E., 20x20 and 25x25mm troops are min 3, 25x50 are min 2 and 40x40 and 50x50 are min 1. you will still need to go over the list and make sure you abide by all the other warband rules. Also, the builder will still yell at you for not having a general, not having a magic user in a vampire army, etc. But at least the math and layout is 90% going to be done for you. If someone more knowledgeable about the system can go in and take out the General requirements, etc. please feel free.

Also - this was a one time - boy, I've got some free time on my vacation kind of thing. I'll not really be up-dating or modifying more.

Useage:

In your ARMYBUILDEREX\data directory make a new directory called WARBANDS

unzip the zip file INTO the WARBANDS folder. Start Army builder, should work fine.

Good luck and have fun,

Marc
