This delayed release catches us up to the current month as far as pathfinder content goes! The eagerly awaited Weapon Master's Handbook and Arcane Anthology add new options for players, and GMs running the current adventure path now have access to chapter 5 and 6 of Hell's Rebels! Enjoy!

New Releases
  • Content from Weapon Master's Handbook is now available as the third book in Pathfinder Player Companion #21.
  • Content from Arcane Anthologies is now available as the first book in Pathfinder Player Companion #22! As usual, future books will be added to this package as free updates over the next few months.
  • Chapter 5 and 6 of the Hell's Rebels Encounter Library package is now available for purchase! This includes all the encounters from the fifth and sixth issue of the AP, in an easy to search format and with paizo's art. This completes our package for this adventure path. As with the Rise of the Runelords GM content, no additional packages are required to make use of these portfolios, even though they draw on races from the Bestiary and other sources!

Please Note
  • As noted in their descriptions, Paizo doesn't recommend using the Synthesist, Broodmaster, and similar archetypes with the Unchained Summoner, so they are not currently implemented in Hero Lab.

Bug Fixes

  • The Void Composite Blast was progressing as a simple blast, and not adding the Con modifier to damage.

  • The Share Iouns ability of the Ioun Wyrd familiar needed a note directing users how to handle it.
  • The Liberty's Blade Warpriest archetype was not reducing the number of blessings to 1.
  • The Student of Philosophy trait needed a situational.
  • The White Hair ability of the White Haired Witch archetype was using Int for it's attack bonus (note that this change doesn't apply to the Prehensile Hair hex, whose language states it should use Int for attacks).
  • When Polymorphing into a form which has hands that can wield manufactured weapons, equipping those weapons would not make any remaining natural attacks secondary.
  • Armor/shield spikes were not inheriting global attack modifiers (for example, the bonus to attack granted by the unchained barbarian's rage ability).
  • The Chthonic Creature template was not applying tremorsense as specified in the Earth subtype it adds.
  • The Fiery Creature template was applying the incorrect bonus fire damage for higher HD.
  • The Apostate, Heresy, and Warmonger devils incorrectly lost the Book of Darkness 1 source when updated to Bestiary 5.
  • The Prehensile Hair Hex was missing it's tracker for the number of minutes per day it is usable.
  • The Purity of Body ability was not adding Immunity to disease at the appropriate level for Unchained monks.
  • The Arcane Reservoir ability was not adding to the DC of secondary/tertiary spells added to the arcanist class.
  • The Advice ability of the Sensei monk archetype was not clearly conveying the advancement in actions needed to activate the ability.
  • The True Magus ability of the Magus class was showing in the Polymorph form before the character had reached 20th level.
  • The Draconic Breath feat was missing a situational.
  • The Psychic Fog occultist implement power was raising an error.
  • The fiendish and celestial templates were applying the wrong resistances and DR.
  • Spells added to the Spell List Expansion table of a class but were not automatic spells known were nonetheless showing on the Spellcasting tab.

  • Some monsters from the Inner Sea Bestiary were missing page numbers and/or default role tags.
  • Slaying arrows were not setting their name correctly in the statblock.
  • The "Luck" intelligent item dedicated power was incorrectly applying the luck bonus to AC, instead of Attack.
  • The Kasatha spinal sword had a typo in its name and lacked any attack bonuses when added to a hero.
  • The Snare Setter rogue archetype was not replacing every other sneak attack when applied to an Unchained rogue.
  • The Carnivalist rogue archetype was not replacing every other sneak attack when applied to an Unchained rogue.
  • The Skulking Slayer rogue archetype was not replacing some instances of Danger Sense when applied to an Unchained rogue.
  • The Oath of the Unbound feat had incorrect text in its description.
  • The Natural weapons of a polymorphed form were not reacting appropriately if the hero equipped a manufactured weapon while in that form.
  • Critical Versatility was missing it's 1/day tracking information.
  • The Elusive Redirection feat was not requiring the Flowing Monk archetype.
  • Scarshield was applyng an untyped rather than enhancement bonus to natural AC.
  • Student of Humanity was not adding situationals.

Data File Authoring
  • Added the Helper.AgilePowOK tag, which marks a weapon as valid to use the Agile item power, for abilities which do not grant weapon finesse in general, but do grant it for specific weapons. This is used for the Inspired Finesse ability.
  • Added the Helper.TierPower tag, which marks an item power as part of a series which can be upgraded to the next level (necessary for one of the Anointings from Arcane Anthology).
  • Added the FtPrRqPos1/FtPrRqNeg1/FtPrRqCaP1/FtPrRqCaN1 tag groups, which function for feats much as the system for custom specials functions. Instead of abCategory tags, FtPrRqCaP1/FtPrRqCaN1 correllates to fCategory tags.
  • Added the Hero.ArcDiscOK tag, which when present allows non-wizards to take arcane discoveries (they must still otherwise meet minimum level requirements).
  • Added the Hero.HasRitual tag, which is applied to the hero when they know at least one ritual spell (from Occult adventures).
  • Added the SpecGroup.Sword tag, which marks certain weapons as a valid selection for the arcane bond of a sword binder wizard.
  • Added the Hero.ProfMartLi/Hero.ProfMart1H/Hero.ProfMart2H tags which when applied to the hero grant proficiency with some combination of weapon class and normal proficiency requirements. This was required for the Child of Acavna and Amaznen fighter archetype (which loses proficiency with 2 handed martial weapons). There are currently 3 feats that apply these tags (fMartLight/fMart1Hand/fMart2Hand), but they are marked to not be available for general selection, so you must bootstrap them from somewhere.
  • Added the Hero.ProfSimpLi/Hero.ProfSimp1H/Hero.ProfSimp2H tags, which work as above but are for simple weapons (and there exist no feats for these).
  • Some work has been done towards making individual attacks directly modifieable (so, for example, a full attack of +12/+7/+2 could have a +10 bonus applied to the second attack in the iteration resulting in +12/+17/+2). This is not quite ready yet, but two fields have been added to support it, wIterGap (which records the standard gap between iterative attacks for this weapon) and wMelAttArr which is actually a matrix field storing different attacks at different rows. These are not final and may change, so we recommend not making use of these yet.
  • The IsWeapon identity tag is now be generated by weapon like special abilities, which means they can now be selected by things like Improved Critical.
  • Normally, trackers that are bootstrapped from feats cannot make use of the Charges/Use mechanism that allows staff spells to draw from a common pool. To override this, the Helper.TrackCharg and Helper.AlwaysAvl tags can be added to the feat, and the appropriate ChargeUse tags added to the bootstrapped tracker. This is used for the Item Mastery feats from Weapon Master's Handbook, because some of the feats grant more than one spell-like ability, all drawing from a single pool of uses/day.
  • Added the Helper.BABCastLev tag, which tells a spell-like ability to use the BAB of the character it is on as its caster level. This is used for the spells added by Item Mastery feats.
  • The svMaxBase field has been added to saving throws. This stores the maximum individual contribution from any one of the character's classes or race to the base save. For example, a Fighter 2/Monk 1 has a base fort save of +5 - +3 from Fighter, +2 from Monk, so the svMaxBase field would be 3 - the highest individual contribution to that total. This is used by the Item Mastery feats from Weapon Master's Handbook while the Pathfinder Society rules are turned on - in that case, instead of looking at the total base save to determine their prereqs and effectiveness, they look at the base save bonus of only one class (HL assumes that the user will always choose the class with the higest save bonus).
