V. 4.2d won't install

When I try, HL shuts down, but never comes back up.

When I bring it back up, this new version has not been installed. First time this has ever happened.

It is something with the release? Anyone know how to troubleshoot?

Should have included that --- Win 7 Starter edition.

It's the only OS I've run it on. No prior problems with updates. Which leads me to think perhaps some setting has changed? Just no clue what...
 
I was running into an issue where it looked like it wasn't installing. So, after a looking through some stuff, I realized that the update was not installing Hero Lab into the directory that I have it installed into. I save all my apps to a different drive than my system drive, and it's always been ok until this update, and it's installing it into "c:\program files (x86)" which is not where I want it. Aside from uninstalling and reinstalling, is there a way that I can have the update apply to my custom location?
