Unable to transfer anything to elephant mount

If I select an elephant under Mounts & Hirelings on the "Gear" tab, it does not show up in the heroes dashboard and I'm unable to transfer gear to it.

Is this a bug?
 
I created a copy of the elephant under General—>Minion/Hirelings and added the unique ID "Mount" under the "Minion" button, which made the check appear next to the Minion button. This was the only difference between the riding horse and elephant that I could see. That allowed it to appear.
 
Probably best to log that one to LW. I would assume an Elephant should be strong enough to carry gear.
