Ultimate Combat Variant Rules

Hello everyone!

I really can't believe I've just recently heard of Hero Lab! Seriously, you guys have done a fantastic job with everything! I plan on purchasing my copy of the software here shortly, but before I do, I had a couple of questions I thought I would ask.

How does Hero Lab implement the variant rules from Ultimate Combat once we purchase that optional package? For instance, I'm running a game that uses the Armor as DR and Wounds & Vigor variant rules. Will I need to manually update character sheets? Do npc/monster stat blocks reflect these rules, or is it something I just have to be cognizant of when choosing encounters, etc.?

Thanks in advance for your responses!:)

I know the variant rules are in HL and come with UC package. From posts people are using these DR variant so I assume it does everything. I have not personally tried the variant rules yet so I can't answer any better. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply! I was assuming so as well. However, since I've yet to use Hero Lab, all my assumptions were just that - assumptions.

Regardless, I'm still excited to try it out! From what I've been reading, the program itself seems very customizable, so even if it's not EXACTLY what I expect, I'm sure I can toy with it a bit to make it work :-)

Not that this should prevent others who have utilized these variant rules to chyme in and share their knowledge/experience with them and their integration into Hero Lab! :-)

The Wounds/Vigor, Piecemeal Armor System, and Armor as DR rules are included as part of Ultimate Combat.
