Rob,
you state that you're working to release 2.2; I assume that, since
this version is still 2.x that it will be available as a free
download
for owners of the 2.0 cd. Am I correct?

Colin,
Will the new CW files be for version 2.2 or 2.1? (BTW - I can
sympathize with you conundrum about school projects, even without
volunteering my time to write free datafiles - I had to take an
incomplete on Judicial Process :-) Hang in there!)

Hmm.....missing class or writing data files for AB. You have to have your
priorities and we need data files, there is always next semester! LOL Really
now, don't you guys miss classes for us. We appreciate the effort of
providing the data files but nobody really wants you to miss out on
"edgumication" because of it.

I believe that if you invested in the CDROM that it is always a free upgrade,
at least that is my understanding of it.

Thanks for the great AB files guys!

It should be a free download for everyone, certainly I've heard nothing
to suggest otherwise.

*ahem*

:)

Everything released from now onwards will be 2.2. Also, I get paid for
doing the Clan War files, so it's not all bad :)

V2.2 will be a free update for all users of V2.0 and V2.1. Just download it
and install it OVER your current version (i.e. accept all the defaults).

Thanks, Rob

Free upgrades have been how it's worked thus far. The "official" promise is
that anyone who purchases V2.x will always be entitled to subsequent V2.x
upgrades for free. The same was true for V1.x. In the case of the CD, V1.x
owners have been granted free updates for V2.x, although this was a choice
on my part. If a V3.0 is released at some point in the future, there are no
guarantees about free upgrades to that version. But a V3.0 would be a LONG
ways off, so I really haven't given it any substantive thought. :-)

Hope this helps to clarify,
Rob

And those that are licensed will still be legal, right?

Yes. ALL legitimate users of V2.0 and V2.1 will get V2.2 as a free update. :-)

Thanks, Rob
