Trouble adding composite bow to hero

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just another weird thing my personal computer has decided to do, but I am having a problem adding a composite short bow to my character. This also happens with the composite longbow.

When I select it in the list, the right had side of the panel becomes all jumbled and I can't set the STR mod. Is anyone else having this issue?
