Track Derived trait for npc

I was looking at grit for NPC and it doesn't raise as it is suppose to do, Grit works fine on the hero side though but that's not what I need - I was hoping to get my 2 derived traits (Acquisition and Equilib Mod) which are equal to rank, like grit is suppose to do but it doesn't seem to work for npc's only Heroes. I have mine working for heroes also but I can't seem to get it to work for the npc. Is their a script to that would allow an Npc to be track for it's final rank and give that as the derived trait. Both traits work fine in the hero side. I have made it where it is just maxed out which is fine but that's not how they work.

Yes but deadlands reloaded doesn't track it either, who did Deadlands. I was wondering if there is a way to do it - I didn't use the acRank - I found a different way to do it, but with the NPC"s all I did was give them the max for the traits - it's ok for GM characters but if players use them that make a big difference.

I'm not sure who did Deadlands, although I believe CapedCrusader has inherited the file as maintainer from the original creator.

Found away around the problem - made 5 different edges named () that an NPC can take for free (Just one called NPC Acquisition Rank: 1, NPC Acquisition Rank: 2, etc.. up to AR:5)
This way a GM can pick the right Acquisition Rank for the rank of the NPC and NPC will be able to get Weapons and equipment equal to his rank. Not pretty but it's a nice work around.

It's because the acRank value is figured differently for PC's vs NPC's. With PC's all you have to do is add up the Experience Points. With NPC's, you have to wait until everything is chosen, so the value isn't available until much later in the time stack. Nature of the beast.
