Tome of Horrors Complete

Skeeter's being incredibly gracious here. The hold up is on our end - specifically with me. The folks at Frog God have been amazingly patient, and it's much appreciated. I promise I'll get this handled by the end of the weekend, which should give us plenty of time to make good on Skeeter's timetable above. :)

Thanks for everyone's patience! There just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done like we intend.

As a separate, but related subject... Will the community bestiary be required, and/or will it need to be disabled to use the official Tome of Horrors source?

Have to say I sure hope time doesn't get wasted redoing the hundreds of monsters from ToH that Frumple has already done.

As for disable you should just have to un-check mark the Community ToH Source. Of course if Unique ID's clash that's a whole different problem. :)

Heh, we're all on the same side here. FGG and Hero lab are only interesting in giving the fans the best content possible, so sometimes it lags behind the "want" curve. lol

As far as duplicated efforts, isn't that always what happens when capable fans decide the "machine" isn't fast enough? (and BTW, the fans on these boards are some of the most dedicated, capable people Ive ever seen in the RPG community)

I can tantalize you guys with something that could be different form the community file, if FGG were going to release a dataset: official art.

Anyway, we'll get there, both sides here are doing our best, well know more soon!

Legal matters closing up, announcement soon, hopefully first week of December!

Sorry this has taken so long, there is a lot to the business side of things. Much respect to everyone here for putting up with us while we work out the bugs!

Frumple,

Which Templates are you still missing? I have a lot of those done from before and could throw them in the dropbox.
Next Community Bestiary release, maybe this weekend, will have EVERYTHING from Tome of Horrors done except for the following templates Clockwork Creature, Collective Creature, Ravenous (Eater of Flesh) and Slime Zombie.

As is we have 90% of ToH done and ready for use for the community and its 100% free. This includes a .stock file for all these creatures too after you install... :)

FYI the reason those templates are not done is that they require the removal of subtypes and their bootstrapped abilities.

So I see the announcement is in the Newsletter as of Dec 31 2012, and that the official package will require several other packages to support it (much like the Community Bestiary, and for the same reasons).

For as many creatures in the Tome.. I can't blame them for having to do it that way to say the least. BUT I do not mind either way as I have all the current add-ons and am SO looking forward to the Tome being released soon!!!

Thanks FGG and Lonewolf!! :)

FINALLY! The Rock has come back to...

...sorry, got carried away there for a minute.

Announcement....tomorrow.

And the only file you need to use ALL functionality of the ToHC is the Bestiary 1, as a couple of the template stock monster use the Bestiary as a base. The template itself, and all content works on its own, just the stock monster will not be available (for the 3 people that don't have the Bestiary 1) lol

Thanks for your patience, thanks to the entire Lone Wolf team that pulled this off WHILE doing their own Kickstarter (no easy task), and thank you to the God-Empress and the whole group of Frogs that got this finished up.

Much appreciation.

Skeeter

There shouldn't be any extra hoops to go trhough just because you have both versions of ToH. They are completly separate from each other and each does not require the other. Just if you encounter an error with a ToH creature, you will have to know which dataset you are pulling it from to be able to get the proper support on it.

The newsletter that was released at the beginning of the month said that the Tome of Horrors was going to be released officially near the beginning of January. Is there a different release date now?? I am ever curious and very very anxious! :)

What would be the benefit of having both Tome of Horrors for PF installed? The community version would be free and the official one will have a particular cost associated with it. With all the money already plunked down in HL I'm not opposed to doing so for an official ToH version, but what would be the benefit of having it?

The community version is not all out yet either. Not even close to being done. So I am all for the community getting it done but I would like it better if I can get it sooner rather then later though.
